Unlike Cru Classé Bordeaux or Premier Cru Burgundy, there is never a reason not to pull the cork on a Gamay from Beaujolais or Cabernet Franc from the Loire. These are delicious on their own but also very versatile with food, pairing admirably with a wide variety of cuisines since they handle spice and acid well.
