24:1 Coffee House/Café Cook Job Description

Background: The 24:1 Community Land Trust would like to establish a gathering space and provide a amenity to enhance the quality of life with in the Community. The envisioned Coffee Café is a new business being established and owned by the 24:1 Community Land Trust. It is in the design phase and is expected to open in April 2018. It is located on the first floor of a renovated building located at 6730 Page, it contains 2800 square feet, has a seating capacity for 49 people, and the can be used for catering. It is expected that the Coffee Café will be open for and seven days a week.

Position Summary: The 24:1 Coffee House/Cafe Cook is responsible for all food production including that used for Coffee shop, functions and other areas as required. The role involves all of the regular duties associated with preparation and of food, maintaining highest professional food quality, presentation and sanitation standards.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities  Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.  Understanding of Recipes  Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.  Portion, arrange, and food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.  Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.  Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.  Estimate expected food consumption; then requisition or purchase supplies, or procure food from storage.  Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries

Experience & Qualification:  High School diploma or the equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred.  Current driver license/transportation  Good math and calculation skills  Self-motivated and organize  Serve Safe Certified  Ability to work in a team environment  Culinary Experience or catering  Communication skills
