Bemidji will host Hockey Day’s outdoor games in 2019 on a temporary outdoor rink to be constructed at Lake Bemidji on Saturday, Jan. 19. Proceeds of the event will benefit Bemidji area youth hockey programs. Minnesota Wild President, Matt Majka, FOX Sports North Sr. Vice President and General Manager, Mike Dimond, Minnesota Hockey Executive Director, Glen Andresen, Bemidji’s Hockey Day Minnesota Event Chair, Tom Kuesel and Wild mascot, Nordy, all gathered prior to the start of the Minnesota Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks contest Thursday at Xcel Energy Center to mark the occasion. Tickets for Wells Fargo Hockey Day Minnesota 2019 in Bemidji are on sale now at ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices for games on Thursday and Saturday will increase by $5 on January 1. Official Hockey Day Minnesota 2019 merchandise is now available online at hockeylodge.com. The weekend will kick-off on Thursday, Jan. 17 with a girl’s high school hockey game between the Bemidji Lumberjacks and the Woodbury Royals at 7 p.m. at Lake Bemidji. All Hockey Day Minnesota games will be featured on digital video boards at Lake Bemidji with live music each night. The hockey village will feature fire pits, food trucks, vendor tents and a viewing party when the Wild hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Xcel Energy Center. The outdoor games will feature the second- annual women’s college hockey game on Hockey Day when Bemidji faces intra-conference rival Minnesota State Mankato. In outdoor boy’s high school hockey action, Minnetonka will play Andover to start the day and Bemidji will play Greenway. FOX Sports North will also televise the men’s college hockey intra-conference rival contest between St. Cloud State University and Western Michigan University from the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on the campus of St. Cloud State on FOX Sports North PLUS. FOX Sports North coverage includes over 18 hours of original hockey programming, including five live games and a variety of special features highlighting stories from across the “State of Hockey”.
