    RENAULT CARAVELLE Named after a light, fast, European ship from the 15th Century, the Renault Caravelle is a stylish rear-engined sports car. This particular car was restored by a Renault enthusiast, and the quality of restoration is rare to find for these cars. You can take this car straight out on the road. The Caravelle is a small rear-engined design that used the floorplan and engine of the Renault Dauphine sedan. It is basically a Dauphine cabriolet, but it is slightly lower and wider. The chassis carries a high-revving four-cylinder engine, rack-and-pinion steering, and a fully independent suspension. The style is akin to that of the Carman Ghia and Volvo P1800, both also conceived by Ghia and Frua in Italy. Love it or hate it, it does have a certain charm. You might even say the Ford Mustang borrowed its bodyside scoop from the Caravelle. The engine of 1108 cc produces 55 hp (41 kW). The car had a top speed of 89 mph (143 km/h). The Caravelle's performance closely matched that of the contemporary Triumph Spitfire 4 under most headings. The white and red colour scheme gives the car a Californian vibe. The interior radiates sixties style. You’ll feel like Sammy Davis Jr., who introduced the car at the New York Auto Show in December 1959, cruising down the boulevard. Darf ich mich kurz vorstellen: Mein Name ist Ansgar Olber- ding und ich bin seit Beginn (1988) Geschäftsführer von „Der Franzose“ Die Firma wurde. 1988 von meiner Ex-Freundin und mir gegründet und seitdem hat sich sehr viel verändert. Eines ist aber stets gleich ge- blieben und wird sich auch in Zukunft nicht än- dern: unsere Kunden bestimmen unser Handeln. Ich habe weder Marketing noch BWL (Betriebs- wirtschaft) studiert, sondern ich habe eine Aus- bildung zum KFZ-Mechaniker gemacht. Autos sind mein Leben, meine Leidenschaft und meine Passi- on. Nach einigen Jahren Berufspraxis habe ich um- geschult zum Medizintechniker - doch bald wurde mir klar, daß das nicht mein Leben ist. So hörte ich wie so oft in meinem Leben auf mein „Bauchge- fühl“ und gründete eine kleine Firma, die sich mit dem Versand von 2CV-Ersatzteilen beschäftigte. Naja . und heute beschäftigen wir 15 Mitar- beiter, die mit genausoviel Leidenschaft dabei sind wie ich. Für uns alle gilt: Immer auf die Kunden hören und von ihnen zu lernen. Ich bin stolz dar- auf, daß wir trotz rapider steigender Umsatzzahlen nach wie vor ein unabhängiger Familienbetrieb sind ohne Manager und Unternehmensberater mit Anzug und Schlips (oder wie wir Norddeut- sche sagen: Schlausnacker). Apropos Bauchge- fühl - meine Ex-Freundin ist jetzt meine Frau. Der Service steht bei uns an erster Stelle. Wir möch- ten, dass Sie für Ihr Geld das Beste bekommen und haben schon seit über 15 Jahren -weit vor Einführung des Fernabsatzgesetzes-eine 365tägige-Geld-Zurück-Garantie! I have now been Managing Director with Renault Aus- tralia for just over a year and what an eventful year 2018 was. We launched the all-new Megane R.S. with an incredible new offer of two chassis configurations and two transmissions – offering an automatic on the market for the first time! We also saw Koleos become the best-selling Renault in Australia ever – a very successful campaign on our largest SUV saw more people choose our brand. Groupe Renault also launched Alpine Down Under for the first time with the iconic A110 at Motorclassica. A beautiful homage to the original ‘berlinette’ the A110 is true to its roots offering a lightweight, agile vehi- cle which looks the business and has been winning over journalists and drivers the world over. And of course in 2018 we heard the incredible news that one of our favourite Australian sportsmen, Dan- iel Riccardo is joining the Renault F1 team for the 2019 season. We are really looking forward to kicking off his Renault F1 season in March right here in Victoria.
