Once a lamp is lifted into the darkness, there is nothing left to fear.” —Leilah Wendell, author of The Necromantic Ritual Book “Many mainstream spiritual texts limit themselves to working the ‘light.’ Raven’s approach, however, is to embrace the shadow self so as to attain self-awareness and balance, rather than focusing on pure light or pure darkness. The meditations and rituals allow readers to experience Raven’s approach in a very real, practical sense.” —Tony Mierzwicki, author of Graeco-Egyptian Magick: Everyday Empowerment “Raven joins the writers and authors giving the world workable occult technologies—systems of understanding to prepare individuals for the dangerous journey to wisdom and fulfillment. Shadow Magick Compendium is a treasury of resources for just that.” —Robin Artisson, author of The Witching Way of the Hollow Hill “Combining extensive research with clear instructions, Digitalis draws on sources ranging from E. A. Poe to Christopher Penczak, from Deepak Chopra to Dead Can Dance. Those seeking to explore their inner darkness will find an invaluable roadmap here.” —Kenaz Filan, managing editor of newWitch magazine and author of The Haitian Vodou Handbook “This important book belongs in the library of any serious student of magic, self-evolution, and spirituality ... Amid a wealth of fascinating information and inspiring exercises, Raven not only covers the psychology of magic—perhaps its foundation stone— but also the history of modern magical practice, in terms of the Shadow . It’s truly refreshing to find a book on magic that has new things to say, as well as including thoughtful interpretations of existing beliefs and practices.” —Storm Constantine, editor/founder of Immanion Press and author of the Wraeththu novels “To recognize the Shadow and embrace it is the first step in learning to harness its limitless potential.... This book shows that the dark side of our inner nature can illuminate and liberate just as readily as it can curse.” —Donald Tyson, author of Necronomicon “A guide to unearthing the darker aspects of our self as well as a guide to integrating them in both the beginning and advanced practitioner.” —David Allen Hulse, author of The Western Mysteries and The Eastern Mysteries “By examining how magic works in various realms from the internal to the external and beyond, Raven shows how Shadow energy can be tapped as a positive force in bringing balance back into one’s life ... this book is a wellspring of information that competently transcends all religious and spiritual paths. Well done!” —Ann Moura, author of the Green Witchcraft series “According to Jung, children become adults through a process called individuation. As the world of magick moves boldly into the twenty-first century, it is time that magick, too, individuates from its eighteenth- and nineteenth-century parents and its twentieth-century childhood. Part of this maturation is the realization that wherever there is light, there is also shadow ... Jung pointed out that our most famous myths are variations of a universal “Hero’s Journey.” Shadow Magick Compendium doesn’t merely share this mythic Journey, it gives you keys and guidance to follow it yourself.” —Donald Michael Kraig, author of Modern Magick “Each of us responds to the darkness in our soul differently—some with fear, avoidance, and denial; others with courage, curiosity, and sorrow. For the courageous, this book provides strategies, ideas, and knowledge ... Digitalis draws from the wisdom of older cultures and religions as well as from younger, radical cultures.” —Gail Wood, author of Rituals of the Dark Moon and The Shamanic Witch “An exceptional guide to exploring the shadow side for a fully integrated path of magickal and spiritual enlightenment.” —Rosemary Ellen Guiley, author of The Encyclopedia of Witches, Witchcraft & Wicca “One of the most basic tenets of Witchcraft is also its most challenging: Know thyself. Raven Digitalis, author of Goth Craft, gives us a new tool for this important task . a ‘must have’ for White Witches, Dark Witches, and everyone in between.” —Deborah Blake, author of Everyday Witch A to Z and Circle, Coven & Grove “Embracing and exploring what society codes as ‘dark’ can lead us to discover the light that resides within. In this ambitious yet practical guide, Raven Digitalis gives readers an array of tools for doing just that and provides valuable insights into the shadow’s role in everyone’s spiritual evolution.” —Mark A. Michaels and Patricia Johnson, authors of Tantra for Erotic Empowerment “Full of inventive rituals, meditations, exercises, and practices, this book can help guide readers into a fuller understanding of their own dark natures and provide them with grounding, balance, and healing.” —Timothy Roderick, author of Wicca: A Year & A Day and Dark Moon Mysteries About the Author Raven Digitalis (Missoula, Montana) is a Neopagan Priest and cofounder of the “disciplined eclectic” shadow magick tradition and training coven Opus Aima Obscuræ. • Bestiary of the Realms: Volume 2
Bestiary of the Realms: Volume 2 by Thomas M. Costa and Eric L. Boyd Art by Noëlle Triaureau Editorial assistance from Joe “Warlockco” Weber A NOTE FROM THE AUTHORS Welcome to volume two of the Bestiary of the Realms. As this is our second volume, you’ll find several score new or converted monsters, as well as a few different interpretations of monsters that have already been converted. A word of caution, just as many official 3E and 3.5E monsters did not slavishly follow earlier write-ups of those monsters, neither do the monsters herein. Instead, we did our best to consider all sources, hopefully make full and creative use of the 3.5E rules (including non-core WotC books), and in many cases add a little bit here and there to many of the monsters, even if it was in only adding or updating their Realms lore. A few have even been renamed. One last note, we’ve done our best to include source references for all things where appropriate, except those found in the three core rulebooks or Expanded Psionics Handbook. Until then, Sword High! – Thomas M. Costa and Eric L. Boyd ABOUT THE AUTHORS Thomas M. Costa is a senior analyst with the Government Accountability Office. He has been a contributor to several Wizards of the Coast products including Demihuman Deities and Races of Faerûn, and is the author of several Dragon Magazine and Wizards of the Coast website articles. • Rua Augusta / Baixa Street Sounds Sofia
Episode 9. Mouth of Hell Location: Rua Augusta / Baixa Street sounds Sofia: You should now walk down Rua Augusta towards Terreiro do Paço. In 1929 Fernando Pessoa is reading the first volume of the Confessions of Aleister Crowley. Crowley was a notorious British magician and occultist. [00:00:29.09] Steffen Dix: He knew several famous figures. He was in contact with Aldous Huxley, with Albert Einstein. He prepared an exhibition in Berlin with some great German modernists, so Crowley was a very international figure. He lived between Berlin, London and Paris and travelled around the world, while Pessoa never left downtown Lisbon. And in this sense there couldn’t be a greater contrast than Crowley and Pessoa. Aleister Crowley voice recording Aleister Crowley: In the Years of the Primal Course, in the dawn of terrestrial birth, Man mastered the mammoth and horse, and Man was the Lord of the Earth. Sofia: The press dubbed Crowley "the wickedest man in the world". He identified himself as the “Antichrist” and he called himself "The Beast 666". On December 4th, 1929 Fernando Pessoa wrote to Crowley's publisher, Mandrake Press. It was to correct a mistake in the magician's astrological chart. Street sounds Steffen Dix: And he asked if the publisher could tell Crowley and the publisher did so. Then Crowley got in touch, maybe he found some interest in Pessoa and he was fairly quick to state that he was coming to Portugal. Sofia: This started a correspondence that led to a meeting between Pessoa and Crowley on September 2nd, 1930, in Lisbon.

  • Nowhere to Go but In
Nowhere To Go But In Talks given from 29/5/74 am to 9/6/74 am Original in Hindi 16 Chapters Year published: Discourse series, title in Hindi: "Nahim Ram" Nowhere To Go But In Chapter #1 Chapter title: From the Alone to the Alone 25 May 1974 am in Buddha Hall [NOTE: This is a translation from the Hindi discourses: Nahim Ram Bin Thaon. It is being edited for publication, and this version is for reference only.] Question BELOVED OSHO, BEFORE WE ASK ANYTHING WE WOULD LIKE TO OFFER OUR GRATITUDE AND GREETINGS TO YOU. THE MYSTICS HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT "THERE IS NOWHERE TO GO BUT IN." YOU ALSO SAY THE SAME. WE ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE WORDS, BUT OUR UNDERSTANDING OF IT DOES NOT GO BEYOND THE VERBAL LEVEL. COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THE DEEPER MEANING OF IT? Understanding at the verbal level is not worth calling understanding. In the world of religion there is no greater deception than words. The words can be understood, there is no difficulty in that, but that which is hidden behind the words remains uncomprehended, and that is the real difficulty. When the word is understood, but not that which lies behind the word, life becomes a great turmoil. We create the illusion of knowing when we do not know, and nothing is more dangerous than assuming that one knows when one does not. Life begins at the point where knowing happens. Life is transformed through knowing. But if we live under the illusion that we know religion because we know the words, then our mind travels in one direction while our life travels in another, and often these directions are completely opposite.

  • Prestige Label Discography
Discography of the Prestige Labels Robert S. Weinstock started the New Jazz label in 1949 in New York City. The Prestige label was started shortly afterwards. Originaly the labels were located at 446 West 50th Street, in 1950 the company was moved to 782 Eighth Avenue. Prestige made a couple more moves in New York City but by 1958 it was located at its more familiar address of 203 South Washington Avenue in Bergenfield, New Jersey. Prestige recorded jazz, folk and rhythm and blues. The New Jazz label issued jazz and was used for a few 10 inch album releases in 1954 and then again for as series of 12 inch albums starting in 1958 and continuing until 1964. The artists on New Jazz were interchangeable with those on the Prestige label and after 1964 the New Jazz label name was dropped. Early on, Weinstock used various New York City recording studios including Nola and Beltone, but he soon started using the Rudy van Gelder studio in Hackensack New Jersey almost exclusively. Rudy van Gelder moved his studio to Englewood Cliffs New Jersey in 1959, which was close to the Prestige office in Bergenfield. Producers for the label, in addition to Weinstock, were Chris Albertson, Ozzie Cadena, Esmond Edwards, Ira Gitler, Cal Lampley Bob Porter and Don Schlitten. Rudy van Gelder engineered most of the Prestige recordings of the 1950’s and 60’s. The line-up of jazz artists on Prestige was impressive, including Gene Ammons, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Eric Dolphy, Booker Ervin, Art Farmer, Red Garland, Wardell Gray, Richard “Groove” Holmes, Milt Jackson and the Modern Jazz Quartet, “Brother” Jack McDuff, Jackie McLean, Thelonious Monk, Don Patterson, Sonny Rollins, Shirley Scott, Sonny Stitt and Mal Waldron.

  • Pj 22 -Matter Anti-Matter
MATTER ANTI-MATTER & WHAT'S THE MATTER BY GYEORGOS CERES HATONN "dharma" A PHOENIX JOURNAL COPYRIGHT POSITION STATEMENT AND DISCLAIMER The Phoenix Journals are intended as a "real time" commentary on current events, how current events relate to past events and the relationships of both to the physical and spiritual destinies of mankind. All of history, as we now know it, has been revised, rewritten, twisted and tweaked by selfishly motivated men to achieve and maintain control over other men. When one can understand that everything is comprised of "energy" and that even physical matter is "coalesced" energy, and that all energy emanates from God's thought, one can accept the idea that the successful focusing of millions of minds on one expected happening will cause it to happen. If the many prophecies made over thousands of years are accepted, these are the "end times" (specifically the year 2000, the second millennium, etc.). That would put us in the "sorting" period and only a few short years from the finish line. God has said that in the end-times would come the WORD--to the four corners of the world--so that each could decide his/her own course toward, or away from, divinity--based upon TRUTH. So, God sends His Hosts--Messengers--to present that TRUTH. This is the way in which He chooses to present it, through the Phoenix Journals. Thus, these journals are Truth, which cannot be copyrighted; they are compilations of information already available on Earth, researched and compiled by others (some, no doubt, for this purpose) which should not be copyrighted.
