Assignment: Create your own set of five (5) Trading Cards. Using the People, Events, and Battles listed, you are to research and design your own series of five (5) trading cards. Your cards should be similar to actual trading cards.

Format: 1. The trading card itself should be made from an index card or anything else that is sturdy. Cards turned in on pieces of paper will not be accepted. o Cards should be 3”x5” or 4”x6”. Remember your information must fit on the card.

2. The FRONT of the card should have an illustration and a title that describes the subject of the card. o Illustrations should be neat and colorful. Printed pictures are acceptable.

3. The BACK of the Card should have detailed information about the subject of your card.

4. The Five (5) Cards should be packaged like trading cards. There needs to be a wrapper with a Brand Name, Year, and Series of cards. The quality of your packaging will influence your creativity grade.

 For Key People include brief biographical statistics (date of birth/death, location of birth, accomplishments, spouse, children, etc.). Focus on the highlights of that person’s life and their role, impact, significance and connection to the American Revolution.

 For Battles include the date of Battle, who won, the military leaders on both sides, casualties, strategy, etc. Focus on important highlights and the battle’s significance to the Revolution.

 For an Event or Issue include the date, important details, facts, and its significance to the American Revolution.

You must create five (5) trading cards. Choose at least one (1) subject from each column.

Because of his central role in the founding of the United States, Washington is often called the "Father of his Country". After the Battles of Lexington and Concord in April 1775, Washington was appointed commander-in- chief of the Continental Army.
