THE ORIGIN OF ST JOHN'S WORT

St John's Wort, Hypericum Perforatum, is most often a herbaceous, annual or perennial plant It has simple, oval, lance-shaped leaves. The flowers can be bright or a paler yellow, with five petals and many stamens. The fruits are generally dry capsules which burst when ripe to release a large number of very small seeds.

PRODUCTION OF THE MACERATED OIL

Fresh St John's Wort flowers are gathered and macerated in extra virgin olive oil (20% in weight). The extract is then filtered after maceration and agitation in the oil.
