Dickie was an almost legendary member of staff who sadly died at the end of 2006. Several former pupils donated funds to help launch this award to help talented youngsters at King’s who are of limited financial means. The Quincentenary Bursary Scheme, of which this fund forms a part, has now raised over a quarter of a million pounds in just five years. It is now helping over a dozen pupils in the Sixth Form at this very moment. This scheme predates the current obsession with demonstrating a public benefit. King’s has always seen its place as at the heart of the community and is demonstrating that in concrete terms on a daily basis. In particular, I am concerned that the conclusions failed to fully consider or examine all of the evidence. Firstly, partially due to the limited time available and secondly due to the perspective adopted. Foreword I commend this minority report to the Cabinet and Council and request that it be given full and fair consideration. My reason for writing this minority report1 is to simply offer the Children and Families Committee, Cabinet and Council, the opportunity to consider an alternative course of action. 1.2. The recommendations in this minority report are based upon what may be perceived as a best “value for money” approach which seeks to maintain the existing home to school transport. It does so by positively suggesting options which could well result in real “efficiency” savings without the negative and detrimental impact of cutting services without really fully knowing or understanding what the social, environmental and financial impact will be to service users.

From a largely social constructionist perspective, this thesis explores linguistic expressions of identity by participants across a range of OCSA interactions, including offenders and suspected offenders, victims, and undercover police officers. The thesis is structured around three individual studies, each involving a different abusive interaction type. Each study employs Swales’ (1981; 1990) move analysis framework, exploring how participants use rhetorical moves as a resource for identity performance.

    University of Kent's Institution Contextual Flag All schools on this list meet the requirements for the University of Kent's Institution Contextual Flag. The Institution Contextual Flag is given to all institutions whose data indicates that they perform in the bottom 40% nationally for KS5 results reported by the Department for Education each year. We use the average point school per entry and where data is not available, we use KS4 result, if available.
