Christopher J. Kearns Managing Director, BRG Corporate Finance Christopher J. Kearns is currently co-head of the corporate finance practice group at Berkley Research Group, LLC (BRG), a multinational strategic advisory and expert consulting firm. He is recognized nationally as an expert in corporate restructuring. He has been the primary financial advisor to parties in interest in numerous complex, multinational matters. He has been a testifying expert, advisor or responsible officer in many well-known corporate distressed situations, including Energy Future Holdings, Lyondell Chemical, Peabody Energy, MF Global, Nortel, Gleacher and Enron.

Chris graduated with honors from Iona College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He started his professional career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he met his wife, Mary Beth. After serving as a corporate officer at Bristol-Myers Squibb, he joined FTI Consulting and later was a founder and managing partner of Capstone Advisory Group, LLC. The Capstone practice joined BRG in 2015.

Chris is a proud member of the Friends of Mercy Medical Center for many years. He is a past president and also has co-chaired the Mercy Ball and the St. Patrick’s Dinner. Chris also has been involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for over twenty years. He is a past Chairman of the City Chapter and a member of the National Board of Representatives. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Chapter. Chris also is a past recipient of the Human Relations Award from the American Jewish Committee. Chris and Mary Beth were the parent honorees for the inaugural ball for Holy Trinity High School and recently were honored by the Rockville Centre Lions Club.

Mary Beth and Chris were married in 1984. They bought their first house in Rockville Centre in 1985. They are the proud parents of four daughters: Meghan, Catie, Emily, and Bridget. Meghan is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The George Washington University and a former Division 1 Varsity Coxswain. She later graduated from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at and she is admitted to practice in New York State. After a fellowship on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, she is now an associate at Goldberg Segalla, one of the fastest growing law firms in the US. Catie graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Molloy College. She completed the executive management program at Bloomingdales and currently is a supervisor at the flagship store for Michael Kors in . Emily holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Manhattan College where she was a Division 1 Varsity Swimmer. She currently is working as a Staff Auditor at Tarlow & Co. in NYC.. Bridget is a graduate student at Molloy College, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Marketing. She works as an Associate for the .
