CLAIR hosts the 2019 JET Programme Career Fairs in order to provide a platform for businesses seeking global personnel to meet internationally-minded JET Programme participants with Japanese language ability and conduct interviews with potential job candidates.

● About the JET Programme The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme is administered through the collaboration of Japan’s local government authorities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR). ● About JET Programme participants JET Programme participants are foreign nationals who have worked in Japan for 1-5 years at local government offices. Each participant has experience as a working professional in Japan. CIRs engage in translation, interpretation, and international exchange event-planning; SEAs promote international exchange through sports instruction while ALTs assist with foreign language education in schools.

JET Programme Participants’ Statistics

2018 marks the 32nd year of the JET Programme. Over the past 32 years, it has seen significant growth, from its original 848 participants from 4 countries at the time of establishment, to 5,528 participants from 54 countries at present.

Job-hunting schedule for JET Programme participants

JET Programme participants start their appointment in April or July/August. JET participants who are completing their appointment on the JET Programme will be able to do job-hunting from April or August.
