• There are many people that play Epic Game's video games because it is fun and even 85% of people that work at game studios play video games • Games that they made and how many people play them: • ZZT was made in 1991 with about 4,000-5,000 copies sold since 1991-2009 • Jazz The Jackrabbit made in 1994(don’t know how many people play this game) • which was made in 1999 and at least 2,000+ play this game • was made in 2006 with about 20,000 • Fortnite is their most popular game made in 2017 with about 250M-350M people that play the game • There are many ways that details that designers put in games are important even if the details are small and tiny Why Are The • Examples of why details are important in games: Details That • Makes the game look better and cooler Designers Put • Makes people that play the game interested and like the game more In Games • Shows and expresses the designer's feelings and creativity Important? • Makes the game look more realistic/better graphics • The details are also important because the details make the games more fun to play Here is what two experts shared about important features in video games:

• Mr.Matt Ozalay (works at Epic Games): • A good game, more than anything, is fun • What makes a game fun is a subject of much debate, and everyone has their own opinion • There are even different kinds of fun! What Features • Some people like skill-based games (like Mario Kart), and some people like games that let you be creative • For example, Someone really enjoys playing Kerbal Space Are Important In Program, which lets them build their own spaceships!

A Good Game? • Mr.Simpson (expert at coding): • Also the dynamics of the game should be balanced • The dynamics are… how people use the rules of the game to behave • So if a puzzle game has a button that you can press to reveal a hint, and everyone presses that button ALL THE TIME, then people might feel like it’s not a challenging puzzle. But if the hint button makes you lose 100 points, people might press it less • A real-world example of this might be a family dinner table with strict rules. The rules might be “you can’t chew and talk at the same time” and “you can’t interrupt another person if they are talking” • When designing a game, you must see how people use the rules, these “dynamics” are very important. • In a good game there are many important features in them What Features • These are the important features that are in most games: Are Important • Graphics In A Good • Multi-player (Social interaction) • Visual Display (Clean images) Game? • Challenging • Fun to play • Easy controls • Follows a main story • Educational What features are important in video games?

• From a survey that I made • 40 peoples results • I made this as a question in my survey to get different perspectives for important features • The people needed to rate each feature from 1-8 • Shows the percentage for each feature and the percentage of people that chose it at the rate 1-8 What is the process to

This is where Epic Game's designers and making a game? workers work and make their games: • A good game has a long process of making a game • Designers wish there is only one way to make a game but there are many steps • Process of making a game: • Make up what the game is going to be about/ based on • Add where the game is going to take place • Add characters and a story to make the games have things to complete • Add rules if you want people to follow rules while playing the game • Lastly, you should add all the colour, detail, design, creating the setting or place • To add finishing touches, you need to add art, animation, visual effects, sound design, lighting and more. Is a design a form of creative expression?

• A is 100% a form of creative expression • There are many ways that a video game design is a form of creative expression. • There are many museums for video games now • How a video game design is a creative form of expression: • A video game design is a form of creative expression because one design show how creative the designers that made it is • The designs also show creative expression because the designers put a lot of hard work to create and make cool and realistic designs. Should Epic Games Make Video Games For Children?

• From my survey there are two different perspectives to this question

• Some people think they should: • Some people think that they should make games for kids because games take kids away from the mad and stress things that they think about • Some said that they should make games because Green Bar: Yes games are fun to play Blue Bar: No • Some said that kids can learn a lot from games • Some people think they should not: • Most of the people that chose the answer no just said that because they don't play video games and that because they can't download games made by Epic Games. How do video games impact children?

Positive Impacts Negative Impacts
