Nancy Joyce Papers BC.2005.079 - Page 4 - Biographical note: Nancy Joyce Nancy M. Joyce was a Boston College alumna, patron, and museum docent. Joyce and her husband Jack were active volunteers and patrons supporting the arts at Boston College, especially through the McMullen Museum of Art and the Boston College Friends of Art. The Joyces served as co-chairs of the latter organization's Steering Committee. Nancy also served as head docent for the McMullen Museum of Art. Donald Monan, SJ in the early 1980s to provide a network for Boston College alumni and others interested in art to exchange news and information, raise funds for the expansion of the museum's collections, and highlight the museum's role as a cultural resource in the greater Boston metropolitan area. Much of the material relates to the Boston College Friends of Art and the 1999 McMullen Art Museum exhibit "Saints and Sinners: Caravaggio and the Baroque Image." The papers contain correspondence; a scrapbook documenting the Caravaggio exhibit; meeting minutes, notes, and remarks for the Boston College Friends of Art; and speeches, programs, flyers, and photographs from various Boston College arts and awards events including the 1994 Excellence in Arts and Humanities William V.
