General information and guidelines for online admission to Undergraduate Course 2021-2022

Admission process for all undergraduate courses under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) will start from 2nd August, 2021.

Those are willing to take admission to this college are instructed to visit our college website www.salbonigovtcollege.org and http://admission.salbonigovtcollege.org regularly.

All applicants must register through the Government General Degree College at Salboni online admissions portal http://admission.salbonigovtcollege.org

A valid mobile number and email ID are mandatory for filling up the online admission / registration form. Candidates are strictly instructed to provide their own / parents' mobile number and their own email ID while filling up the online admission / registration form.

All communication will be done through this mobile number and email id. Thus, this mobile number and email ID cannot be changed under any circumstances during the total tenure of the candidate of this college.

All undergraduate admissions for 2021 - 22 will be administered only through this portal.

There is no offline admission for any applicant.

Only eligible applicants who have registered online through the admissions portal http://admission.salbonigovtcollege.org/can be considered for admission.

The online admission process would be done based on merit points. Prospective students should not be called for counselling or verification of documents during the process of admission. No physical presence will be required at the college for admission.

The admission to the Honours and General courses are to be made online. Candidates are strictly instructed NOT to report to the college for counselling.

Verification of documents will be done only when the students report for classes in due course. Admission will be cancelled if the documents are found not in conformity with the declaration in the forms submitted online. This is according to the rule of the Government of West Bengal and Vidyasagar University.

Admission to any course of the college is provisional and is subject to the final approval of the Vidyasagar University.

Anti-ragging declaration as mandated by the UGC is to be furnished online by every student and his/her guardian after admission.

Caste Certificates (whenever applicable) issued only by appropriate authority of the Government of West Bengal will be considered valid. Percentage of reservation to each reserved category follows the G.O. No. 267-Edn (U/1U-89/13 dated 04.03.14) of Government of West Bengal, Higher Education Department.

The candidates who have taken admission elsewhere are allowed to take admission to this college provisionally. However, transfer certificate or admission cancellation certificate from the previous institution must be submitted within the stipulated time as fixed by the College. Admission to this college otherwise may be treated as cancelled.

Candidates must fulfill 90% of attendance within first ten (10) days of commencement of their classes. Their admission otherwise will be treated as cancelled. Only special cases will be considered in this matter provided the students inform the college authority in advance with written document.

Eligibility Criteria

 Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent Board/Council in the year (2021/2020/2019) are eligible to apply.

 Candidate who have passed in 5(Five)/ 4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject.

 For honours courses the candidates must have passed with at least 45% marks in Aggregate# or 50% marks in subjects or related subjects in the qualifying examination.

 The subjects or allied subjects required for admission in honours courses are as follows

Note: 1. Candidates who are passing vocational course can apply in B.A. General course only. 2. A candidate passing 10+2 level in the year 2018 or earlier with above mentioned criteria can also apply through online mode after getting special permission from the secretary, U.G. Council, Vidyasagar University, . 3. It is also mentioned that the admission is provisional unless or until the candidate is registered to Vidyasagar University through this college. Any suppression of facts or wrong production of facts, found in future, will cancel the admission.
