Issue 91 December 2012 AED 25
Issue 91 December 2012 AED 25 1 On a High Note 2012 started off with a bang, with the glorious, 30th Anniversary of the Tokyo Auto Salon ushering in an exciting new year and promising lots of tuning contents in the coming months. And that was exactly the case as 2012 unfolded, we were over- whelmed by the sheer number of quality tuner and high-performance rides we’ve worked on this year. The most exotic cover story of the year is, without a doubt, the feature of the Rauh Welt Begriff 993 built in Dubai by the legendary Nakai-san himself. Props to Crank & Piston for the materials! Following that, many other hot tuner cars graced the pages of Top Performance, including those from HKS, Manhart Racing, Switzer, TRD, Classic Recreations, Techart, Roush, Vorsteiner, Kahn Design and the list goes on. Combining the best in local projects and international stories, we strived to provide interesting content and catering to a variety of interests. Same goes for the high-performance and exotic car test drives; we’ve had an awe- some lineup that included the McLaren MP4-12C, the new Nissan GT-R, the BMW M5, Camaro ZL1, Ferrari 458 Italia, Audi S8, Toyota 86, several Bentleys, Porsches and Mercedes-AMG models. The year was truly filled with memorable drives and race track experiences, definitely one to be remembered. [email protected] And, as gloriously as it had started, 2012 is ending for us on a high note, with one of the best months we’ve had in a long time. -

March 24, 2021 Contact: For immediate release Corporate Planning Department Corporate Communications Section Phone: 81-3-5400-4531 Fax: 81-3-5400-4570 Yokohama Rubber’s Support for Motorsports in 2021 Tokyo—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today announced its plans for supporting motorsports events in 2021. The consumer tire strategy in our recently announced new medium-term management plan, Yokohama Transformation 2023 (YX2023), aims to maximize the sales ratios of high-value-added YOKOHAMA tire brands, namely the global flagship ADVAN brand, the GEOLANDAR brand of tires for SUVs and pickup trucks, and various winter tires. YX2023 positions participation in motorsports activities as crucial to our effort to develop new tire technologies that will further strengthen the ADVAN and GEOLANDAR brands. Yokohama Rubber therefore will again participate in a wide variety of motorsports events in Japan and around the globe, from top-category races to grassroots races. Event reports and results will be posted on Yokohama Rubber’s motorsports website as well various SNS specializing in motorsports topics. This release briefly introduces some of the main events Yokohama Rubber will be participating in this year. ■ GT/Touring Car Races <SUPER GT> SUPER GT races are contested in two classes, GT500 and GT300. GT500 is dominated by works teams from major automakers while GT300 teams tend to be more varied and individualistic. GT500 machines must meet certain specifications. GT300 races, however, are open to a variety of cars made in Japan and overseas. The GT300 machines can broadly be divided into three types: (1) automakers’ production cars that meet the international FIA GT3 specifications, (2) unique JAF-GT machines, and (3) the so-called “Mother Chassis" group of machines. -

The “Super Taikyu” Philosophy
Super Taikyu 2020 Sporting Regulatiolationn & Technical Regulation The “Super Taikyu” Philosophy In 1991, the Super Taikyu Race (“S-Tai”) began as a participant-focussed competition for mass-produced cars. It is the biggest race of its kind in Japan. This is a team sport in which both professional drivers and amateurs (for whom racing is an essential part of their lives) work together to nurture and develop both themselves and their sport. The atmosphere at Super Taikyu is like a gathering of car-mad, motorsport- loving friends. Through these meetings we hope personal bonds will be deepened, that participants will encourage each other while competing fairly in a demonstration of good sportsmanship. In other words, Play Fair and Compete Hard! We also strive to develop the sport of racing itself through the improvement of technologies in an environmentally-conscious way. Fair competition with safety as a priority is paramount, but it should not all be about the struggle for rank. We want to create an enriching experience for all who take part. Nothing puts your mettle to the test like continuous, personal challenge. We also aim to contribute to the advancement of Japan’s automobile industry and motorsports market through the development and sales of auto equipment and parts developed with Super Taikyu participants’ know-how and experience. 1 It is our hope that everyone associated with Super Taikyu share and appreciate this philosophy. Let us put our stamp on motorsports and join hands in passing along to the next generation an even richer racing tradition.Super Taikyu 2020 Sporting Regulation Pirelli Super Taikyu Series 2020 is held in accordance with the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Domestic Sporting Code and the supplementary provisions comply with the FIA International Sporting Code and its supplementary provisions as well as the Sporting Regulation, Technical Regulation published by the Super Taikyu Organization (STO), and the supplementary regulations published in each round. -
