Temporary Closure of Corton Denham Road

TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset have made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Corton Denham Road from the junction with Whitcombe Farm Lane to the junction with Beacon Cottage access road for a distance of 220 metres.

This order will enable Wessex Water to carry out water main repalcement works in this road.

The Order became effective on 23 February 2015 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 04 January 2016 and last for 6 weeks. While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE

From the northern end of the closure proceed in a north westerly direction along Corton Denham Road and Kembers Hill to the junction with Stonehill. Turn right and proceed in a north easterly direction along Stonehill to the junction with Allotment Road. Turn right and proceed in a north easterly direction along Allotment Road and South Cadbury Road to the junction with Compton Road. Turn right and proceed in a north easterly direction along Compton Road to the junction with Old Bristol Road. Turn right and proceed in a south westerly direction along Old Bristol Road and Wheat Sheaf Hill to the junction with Middle Ridge Lane. Turn right and proceed in a north westerly direction along Middle Ridge Lane and Corton Denham Road to the southern end of the closure, and vice versa.
