“One year Intensive Course in Acting.2019- 20”

ADMISSION NOTICE

National School of Drama, Bengaluru Centre invites applications for admission to its residential One year Certificate Course in Acting. The Course will begin from 25th July, 2019.

NO OF SEATS: 20(Twenty)

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTIONS: The language of Instruction shall be English. The language of performance will be multilingual (South Indian Dravidian Languages). The language of writing the examination shall be English or any one from the Southern region.

ELIGIBILILTY:

Essential Qualifications: 1. The minimum qualification shall be Graduation or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized University. It is relax able in the case of extraordinary talented candidates from the tribal, folk and traditional performing art families. 2. Sufficient knowledge of theatre with participation in at-least 4(four) productions.

AGE LIMIT: Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st June, 2019.

FORMS AVAILABLE AT: The application form can be downloaded from the School website www.nsd.gov.in from 30th April, 2019 onwards. Application form and Prospectus form are also available at National School of Drama, Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathalli (Behind Bangalore University), Bangalore-56. Between 10 am to 1.00 pm.

HOW TO APPLY: Self Attested copies of certificates and testimonials must be attached with the application form along with a demand draft of Rs.150/- in favor of NSD, Bengaluru Chapter.

FORMS TO BE SENT ON THIS ADDDRESS: Completed form can be sent by post or by hand to the Centre Director, NSD, Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathahalli (Behind Bangalore University), Bangalore-56.

THE LAST DATE: The last date for submitting the duly filled application form is 25th June, 2019. No application will be entertained after this date.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Selection is the two Phase process. The Candidate should appear for a preliminary examination and if selected, has to appear for a final examination Workshop. PRELIMINARY TEST / AUDITION AND FINAL WORKSHOP:

Bengaluru 2, 3, and 4th of July 2019 An expert committee constituted by National School of Drama, New Delhi will assess the aptitudes and talent of the candidates and the committee’s decision will be final. Any CANVASSING in this regard will be treated as ground for disqualification.

SCHOLARSHIP: Finally selected Candidates for the course will be given scholarship of Rs.4, 500/- per month for the academic year.

PHYSICAL FITNESS: All selected students will have to undergo a medical test for physical fitness. Their final selection is subject to clearance of the fitness test.
