ADMISSION NOTICE
National School of Drama, Bengaluru Centre invites applications for admission to its residential One year Certificate Course in Acting. The Course will begin from 1st Sept, 2020. Anybody throughout the country (India) can apply but preference would be given to candidate from Southern States of India (Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Union Territories of Pondicherry and Lakshadweep).
NO OF SEATS: 20 (Twenty Only)
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTIONS: Language of Instruction shall be English. The language of performance will be multilingual (South Indian Dravidian Languages). The language of writing the examination shall be English or any one from the Southern region.
ELIGIBILILTY:
Essential Qualifications: 1. The minimum qualification shall be Graduation or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized University. It is relaxable in the case of extraordinary talented candidates from the tribal, folk and traditional performing arts families. 2. Sufficient knowledge of theatre with participation in at-least 4(four) productions.
AGE LIMIT: Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st July, 2020.
FORMS AVAILABLE AT: The Online application forms available at the School website www.nsd.gov.in from 1st July, 2020 onwards. Offline application forms and Prospectus are available at National School of Drama, Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathahalli (Behind Bangalore University Jnanabharathi Campus), Bangalore-56. Between 10 am to 1.00 pm.
HOW TO APPLY: Attested copies of certificates and testimonials must be attached with the application form along with a DD of Rs.150/- in favor of NSD, Bengaluru Centre for offline and for online Rs. 50/- through Credit/Debit Card.
FORMS TO BE SENT ON THIS ADDDRESS: Completed form can be sent by post or by hand to the Centre Director, NSD, Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathahalli (Behind Bangalore University Jnanabharathi Campus), Bangalore-56.
THE LAST DATE: The last date for submitting the duly filled application form is 10th August, 2020. No application will be entertained after this date.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Selection is the two Phase process. The Candidate should appear for a preliminary examination and if selected than has to appear for a final examination Workshop.
Audition and Final Workshop: 20th ,21st and 22nd Aug, 2020
An expert committee constituted by National School of Drama, New Delhi will assess the aptitudes and talent of the candidates and the committee’s decision will be final. Any CANVASSING in this regard will be treated as ground for disqualification.
SCHOLARSHIP: Finally selected Candidates for the course are eligible for scholarship of Rs.6,000/- per month for the academic year.
PHYSICAL FITNESS: All selected students will have to undergo a medical test for physical fitness. Their final selection is subject to clearance of the fitness test.
NOTE: The course will be conducted by the Institute through regular classes or online/digital mode as per guidelines of Government/ National School of Drama due to pandemic conditions of corona virus (Covid-19).
