Sports Clubs in the East Riding of Yorkshire (1 June 2018) East Riding Club Accreditation Scheme (ERCAS) Accredited Sports Clubs in the East Riding of Yorkshire (1 June 2018) This list has been collated by the East Riding of Yorkshire Sport, Play & Arts Service to help put you in touch with a range of accredited voluntary sports clubs across the East Riding of Yorkshire. Clubs are listed in sport order and show details of the appropriate club member to contact if you are interested in finding out more about that particular club. All clubs that have pending against their expiry date have submitted their renewal or are in the process of doing so. There are a number of accreditation schemes for voluntary sports clubs to work towards, such as National Governing Body of Sport (NGB) Accreditation, Sport England's ‘Clubmark’ Scheme and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s own Club Accreditation Scheme (ERCAS). Each accreditation ensures sports clubs provide details of their policies and procedures including DBS checks, Health & Safety Standards and Coaching Qualifications. The type and level of accreditation is shown against each club. An accredited club is one who has worked towards a series of standards to prove that they can provide a safe, child friendly environment for junior/adult members. In addition Schools will ensure that each individual provider has written confirmation that they meet the childcare disqualification requirements. Please note that only accredited clubs that are registered with the Sport, Play and Arts Service are shown on this list and should be used by schools and leisure centres when (making private bookings, providing coaching sessions to young people and handing out publicity material). If a voluntary club holds either Clubmark or an NGB accreditation, they are still required to achieve ERCAS, however this process is extremely simple – please ask the club to contact Sport, Play and Arts Service (details below). Cllr Peaks then nominated Cllr Hemmerman, who thanked her but informed the Council that he would like to retire. Cllr Curwen thanked Cllr Hemmerman for all his hard work the past year. The Councillors unanimously AGREED that Cllr Botting was duly elected as Town Mayor. 2. ELECTION OF DEPUTY TOWN MAYOR FOR THE 2017/2018 CIVIC YEAR Councillors were asked for nominations for Deputy Mayor 2017/2018. Cllr Stellings nominated Cllr Townshend, seconded by Cllr Hemmerman. Cllr King then nominated Cllr Cary, seconded by Cllr Curwen. A vote was taken and Cllr Cary was duly elected as Deputy Mayor. 3. DECLARATIONS OF ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICE AND AGREEMENT TO ABIDE BY THE CODE OF CONDUCT This was declared and signed by Cllr Botting as Mayor and Cllr Cary as Deputy Mayor. 4. AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE PUBLIC TO ADDRESS THE TOWN COUNCIL Ann Marie and Philip Sellers: Came to listen mainly as have always wanted to hear what goes on and thank the Council for all they do in the town. They would like to see more information in the newsletter regarding visions for the future and building in the area. Councillors stated that all planning and building permissions could be found on the ERYC website. Mrs Andrea Nugent: Wanted Councillors help in writing to the ERYC as she had a fall over a raised drain during the repairs to tarmac on Northgate Vale. The resident had rang the ERYC and got a reference number. The doctor originally informed her that hand/arm was badly bruised but not broken and given painkillers and told to put ice on the area. After a while shooting pains were felt and x rays done – there was damage to the tissue and ulna nerve so Insurance Companies were now involved. The Mayor stated it was not for the Town Council to act upon and this was the responsibility of the ERYC. The Ward Councillor to support if necessary but it looked as if the process was going forward for compensation although the ERYC may feel contractors were responsible.
