The Venice Production Bridge team is proud to announce that, in 2018, 23 international publishers (+ 21% from 2017) will be pitching their new titles. The publishers will also be able to present their complete catalogues, as opposed to other events dedicated to publishing within the context of Film Festivals that focus on a single book or volume. Producers will be offered a worldwide tour of publishing companies coming from Belgium, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Japan, Italy, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, the UK and the USA. A special focus on Italian Literary IP has been organized and gathers 5 leading publishing houses, from Feltrinelli to Gruppo Editoriale Mauri Spagnol to name just two, thus providing the producers with a wide range of titles. The uniqueness of this 3-day event consists not only in the organization of 1-to-1 meetings between the publishers and the producers, but also in enabling them to develop their network in a productive and welcoming setting. With the Book Adaptation Rights Market, the Venice Production Bridge renews its vocation to foster the development and production of international and European projects across a wide range of audiovisual forms. We warmly welcome you to this 3rd edition and hope that it will bring many beneficial encounters. Pascal Diot Head of the Venice Production Bridge Thanks to Db Logic S.r.l. Rao) Twenty out of twenty-six of Andrea Camilleri’s detective Montalbano novels feature three motifs related to the mafia. First, although the mafia is not necessarily the main subject of the narratives, mafioso behavior and communication are present in all novels through both mafia and non-mafia-affiliated characters and dialogue. Second, within the narratives there is a distinction between the old and the new generations of the mafia, and a preference for the old mafia ways. Last, the mafia is illustrated as the usual suspect in everyday crime, consequentially diverting attention and accountability away from government authorities. Few critics have focused on Camilleri’s representations of the mafia and their literary significance in mafia and detective fiction. The purpose of the present study is to cast light on these three motifs through a close reading and analysis of the detective Montalbano novels, lending a new twist to the genre of detective fiction.

Often, conspiracy theories work as counter–narratives con- trasting the reassuring oYcial accounts of such shocking happenings. Fictional literature is one of the main channels for the diVusion of con- spiracy theories. Starting from such premises, the essay focuses on a corpus of Italian novels written in the last sixty years. They refer to four of the most upsetting moments of Italian national history (Risorgimento, the fall of Fascism, the “lead years”, and the passage from the first to the second Republic). The analysis concentrates on novels by Umberto Eco, Andrea Camilleri, Leonardo Sciascia, Rino Cammilleri, Carlo Alianel- lo, and Luciano Bianciardi. It singles out diVerent types of conspiracy narratives in contemporary Italian literature, each one characterized by peculiar recurrent motifs and characters. The essay, therefore, sets the premises for a semiotic study of conspiracy as literary genre. keywords: Conspiracy; Italian Literature; National Identity; Semiotics; Narrative. 1. • Affresco Siciliano O Della Bellezza Intravista Saggio Di Filologia Camilleriana*

  • Storia Del Premio Vittorini

  • Xv Edizione Inverno 2016/17 2 Benvenuti
Resiste serenamente a ogni stereotipo.

  • Harvill Secker's Surprising Centenary Liiz Thomson Opiiniion - Publliishiing Wednesday, 30Th September 2009
Harvill Secker's surprising centenary Liiz Thomson Opiiniion - Publliishiing Wednesday, 30th September 2009 From January to December 2010, 'Random House imprint Harvill Secker will be celebrating a centenary of publishing. Harvill Secker has published some of the most iconic and inspiring literary works of the last 100 years, bringing international writing from exceptional writers to the attention of British book buyers.' The quality of the Harvill Secker list is indeed impressive - but Harvill Secker is not 100 years old. In 2010 it will be six. Nor, strictly speaking, is Secker & Warburg, which was born in 1936 as a result of the takeover by Frederic Warburg of Martin Secker, which had gone bust. But those two companies are now forever linked by an ampersand. Harvill Press was founded in 1946, by Manya Harari and Marjorie Villiers, BBC broadcasters who sought to build cultural bridges with Europe after the war. It was for many years part of Collins/HarperCollins, then independent, and was acquired by Random House in 2002 and merged with Secker in 2004, a move that was not without controversy. Be that as it may, next year's events will include a day celebrating international writers at Foyles and a presence at all the major literary festivals. Goodie bags, giveaways, special editions and competitions will run alongside a high-profile media campaign. Harvill Secker's enviable list of writers, including Man Booker winners and Nobel Laureates, is the combined fruit of the rich history of two distinct, and distinguished houses. From Secker comes Thomas Mann, George Orwell, J M Coetzee, Louis de Berni res, G nter Grass and Joseph O'Connor.
