Wine Brings People Together And you probably want to taste them. After all, this is why people come to Napa Valley. Yet the sheer number of tasting possibilities can be daunting. More from Features Certainly, a modest, qualitative approach will be more successful than a forced-march strategy that attempts to generate the maximum number of winery visits. There is something for everyone at every winery, whether it's an update on current winemaking methods, a historical walking tour or simply a taste of the new vintage. As always, wine lovers should tackle the tasting game in a responsible manner. Even with a designated driver among your party, a little sip here and there can add up to an unpleasant experience.

  • Redwood Creek Winemaker Sean Hails Grew up in Ontario, Canada
Columbia Winery™ 2020 Columbia Valley Syrah Rosé With roots dating back to 1962, Columbia Winery has been discovering and celebrating Washington wine for over 55 years. Columbia’s forward-thinking philosophy continues today in the hands of a talented and innovative winemaking team led by Winemaker Sean Hails. We believe the sum of Washington is greater than its parts, inspiring winemaking and blending philosophies rooted in discovery, sourcing our fruit from across a range of Washington’s premier AVAs. Guided by our vision of high quality, approachable wines, each season we select premier vineyard sites, refine our oak regimen and cellar techniques to impart nuance, texture, and complexity in our wines. About the Wine: The 2020 Columbia Valley Syrah Rosé is a mouthwatering, Provence-inspired wine made in Washington. In the glass, our Rosé reveals a pale pink the color of ballet tulle encircled in pale blue. Creamier than previous vintages, this Rosé bursts with aromas of strawberries with whipped cream, white blossom and ruby red grapefruit. One sip releases layers of Mandarin orange, tangerine slices and watermelon. The wine is dry, medium-light bodied with a tart, citrus effervescence that shines through the finish. Enjoy this Rosé now. Should you choose to lay it down, the pink color will stay beautiful. Enjoy with shrimp salad, oysters on the half shell, Caprese salad with melon or roast chicken with capers and lemon or a charcuterie board with thick-cut potato chips. Viticulture Notes: For our 2020 Rosé, we selected Syrah for its bright fruit characteristic and Chardonnay grapes to add layers and creaminess to the blend from the Columbia Valley AVA.
