2017 Annual Report to You, Our Sponsors, Donors and Audience Members ANNUAL 2017 REPORT OUR MISSION AS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION OUR MISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE NORTH FLORIDA COMMUNITY’S QUALITY OF LIFE BY PROVIDING DIVERSE AND MEMORABLE ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT EXPERIENCES, AND BY PRESERVING A UNIQUE HISTORIC JACKSONVILLE LANDMARK. 2 | FLORIDATHEATRE.COM | BOX OFFICE: 904.355.2787 THE LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN & PRESIDENT Last summer, in the midst of the Florida Theatre’s 90th Anniversary year, singer/songwriter Kim Paige mentioned the Florida Theatre in an interview with Flamingo magazine: “I opened for Clint Black at the Florida Theatre in March, and that was my biggest dream come true. It was always my dream to play the Florida Theatre. I had never even seen the stage before. So to be behind the scenes and getting ready… I had my band with me. Oh my gosh, it was frickin’ cool.” Ever since the theatre reopened as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1983, we have been hearing from audience members and performers about what the theatre means to them. Any city can build themselves a concert venue, but for artists who love giving great performances, and for audiences who enjoy seeing and hearing those Vince McCormick performances in an intimate and authentic venue, there’s Chairman only one Florida Theatre. The historic Florida Theatre is managed, programmed and preserved by the Florida Theatre Performing Arts Center, Inc., a nonprofit corporation. We are proud to be the institution that connects the world’s greatest performers with Jacksonville audiences, and we seek to electrify your soul with great performances that keep every corner of our city cheering for more. We take our role as stewards of the historic Florida Theatre seriously, because it’s this 90 year old building that brings us all together. Part of being a good steward of a nonprofit corporation is being transparent about our operations, and we are pleased to present this 2017 Annual Report to you, our sponsors, donors and audience members. • Danske Spil: Den Gamle X Factor-Trio Gendannes

Jan 29, 989 PRESIDENT'S LETTER Dear Cousins, I don’t know about the rest of you, but we have had more than enough of winter. We have so much snow we’ve run out of room to put it. It will be in the shopping centers and parking lots till April. We’re driving through mazes. It’s crunch time for the Convention. We have only a few reservations. We need lots more. Remember, the excursion to Philadelphia is Friday, April 23, to avoid weekend crowds. We have 75 tickets reserved for the tour. We have a trip planned to Valley Forge on Saturday. We also suggested a car trip to Gettysburg, possibly on Sunday, but we need to know if people are interested in that. You should take time to go to New Castle, about 15 miles away, to see where William Penn really landed, not in Philadelphia. If anybody wants to bring children to the convention, they can order from the menu for the banquet. The prices for everything else will be the same as adults as they will be counted as an individual. Don’t forget the cut-off date is March 15. After that we will release the second bus if we don’t have enough count. While this will primarily be a touring convention, there will be time to visit and compare notes on family connections. Bring anything you think might be of interest to the other cousins or that they might be able to help with.
