In the process of development, Sufism has always been a solution to various issues in society, and it is also aimed at achieving closed relation to the Lord. Shifting orientation of Sufism has occurred in any kind of its theology, politics, philosophy, and organization. The present studies of Sufism development lead to medical issues. Some experts call it Sufi Healing. It is interesting to discuss it since the shifting orientation brings something positive to the development of Sufism. However, there are many things that need to be reviewed, namely the provision of the proposition for any behavioral recovery which seemed a merely justification. This article is presented by using a historical and a phenomenological approach that emphasizes on the existence of its phenomenon. Through this article, it is expected to obtain an understanding of Sufism and its various efforts in developing the doctrine of al-ihsa} n> in Islam in he context of digital era. Journal of Critical Reviews ISSN- 2394-5125 Vol 7, Issue 2, 2020 Review Article UNDERSTANDING OF SIGNIFICANCE OF ZAKAT (ISLAMIC CHARITY) FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING 1Mohd Nasir Masroom, 2Wan Mohd Azam Wan Mohd Yunus, 3Miftachul Huda 1Universiti Teknologi Malaysia 2Universiti Teknologi Malaysia 3Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Malaysia Received: 25.11.2019 Revised: 05.12.2019 Accepted: 15.01.2020 Abstract The act of worship in Islam is a form of submission and a Muslim’s manifestation of servitude to Allah SWT. Yet, it also offers certain rewards and benefits to human psychology. The purpose of this article is to explain how Zakat (Islamic charity), or the giving of alms to the poor or those in need, can help improve one’s psychological well-being. The study found that sincerity and understanding the wisdom of Zakat are the two important elements for improving psychological well-being among Muslim believers. This is because Zakat can foster many positive attitudes such sincerity, compassion, and gratitude. Moreover, Zakat can also prevent negative traits like greed, arrogance, and selfishness. Therefore, Zakat, performed with sincerity and philosophical understanding can be used as a form treatment for neurosis patients. It is hoped that this article can serve as a guideline for psychologists and counsellors in how to treat Muslim neurosis patients. Neo Sufism Teaching of Syekh Al-Palimbani In The Book of Hidayah Al-Sa>liki>n Umi Masfiah [email protected] Abstract Neo Sufisme idea of Syekh al-Palimbani in the Book of Hidayah al-Sâlikîn has contributed to the reaffirmation of Sunni Sufism in the archipelago in the 18th century. The teaching of Sufism is intended for public people or beginners with the aim that they have knowledge about the basic Sufism before knowing the Sufism teaching of wujudiyah which developed in the 18th century. By using a research library research approach and hermeneutic analysis, it can be seen that Neo Sufism teaching of Syekh al-Palimbani contained teachings about the importance of the practice of sharia before a person entered the practice of the tarekat. After that, the person can enter the world of Sufism by filling its mind with the practice of dhikr. Keywords: Neo Sufism, al-Palimbani, The book of Hidayah al-Sâlikîn Introduction Syekh al-Palimbani is an archipelago scholar who initiated the teaching of Neo Sufism or new Sufism in the 18th century. Neo Sufism teaching of al-Palimbani are as a place for the development of the Sufism-wujudiyah teachings which are disseminated through the Tuhfah al-Mursalah Book of ila Ruhin Nabi by Sheikh Burhanpuri. Wujudiyah teaching was developed rapidly from the 17th century in Aceh to the 18th century during the lifetime of Sheikh al-Palimbani. In the 18th century, the teachings of wujudiyah were still the topic of discussion for scholars, as evidenced by the fact that al-Palimbani had been assigned by his teacher - Sheikh Muhammad Saman - to learn the Book of Tuhfah al-Mursalah ila Ruhin Nabi.

Green Deen: What Islam Teaches About Protecting the Planet. San Francisco, CA: Berrett-Koehler Publishers, 2010. In this book, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin draws on research, scripture, and interviews with Muslim Americans to trace Islam's dedication to humankind's collective role as stewards of the Earth. Abdul-Matin points out that the Prophet Muhammad declared that “the Earth is a mosque.” Deen means “path” or “way” in Arabic. The author offers several examples of how Muslims can follow, and already are following, a Green Deen in four areas: “waste, watts (energy), water and food.” While this book is focused on Islam, it is intended to address people of all beliefs so that everyone can appreciate the contributions that Islam and Muslims bring to the environmental movement. e-ISSN 2289-6023 International Journal of Islamic Thought ISSN 2232-1314 Vol. 16: (Dec.) 2019 Interpretation of the Quran in Contemporary India: Wahiduddin 28 June 2019 June 28 Khan’s Reading of Peace and Spirituality in the Scripture 2019 August 21 REIKO OKAWA1 Received: Received: Accepted: ABSTRACT This study examines the interpretation of the Quran (tafsir) of an Indian Muslim intellectual, Wahiduddin Khan (b.1925), written as a commentary on his translation of the Quran, The Quran: English Translation, Commentary and Parallel Arabic Text. It aims to illustrate how Khan created a peaceful understanding of the Quran in contemporary India, where a critical need to resolve the issue of violent communalism between Muslims and Hindus existed. Two main subjects are argued here: (1) the background to Khan’s thought and (2) the features of his interpretation of the Quran. Khan was deeply influenced by the Islamic and Indian trends of thought in contemporary India, such as Islamism (Tablighi Jamaʻat), Islamic revivalism (Jamaʻat-e Islami) and non-violence (Gandhism), and chose his own peaceful and spiritual understanding of Islam. This background is reflected in his interpretation of the Quran, implying that the recognition of scripture provides an awareness of the inner self which leads the way to live peacefully with non-Muslims.
