PARADISE FOUND we’ve got a no outdoor light policy. The general vibe is super chilled., people get away from their city, their cellphones, distractions... in the desert you’re connected to nature and your surroundings.

Describe a typical day at Rancho V. A typical day would be someone in a session recording, do some tracking, go to Pappy and Harriet’s for dinner – a local saloon and music venue. During Coachella, a lot of the bigger bands come up and do small performances there too. Within five minutes, you’ve got a world-class bar, but when you’re up in the house, you’re isolated. We’ve just had a big A-lister do a commercial, but we get photographers, writers, bands, models, actors… and not just people with crazy budgets. We’ve discovered people playing open mic night and brought them up. It’s not super exclusive but it’s private. What’s your favourite bit of furniture at the ranch? When I moved in, I put a door in the middle of nowhere. What made you up sticks from ? from the Eagles of Death Metal invited me to come out and record at – the desert studio – and I just fell in love with the place in 2013. He advised me to buy a hut, so I was looking around and got taken to this Ranch, and I instantly knew. I had a place in London, a 400 square foot apartment, and selling that got me a 40-acre ranch in California with 10,000 square feet of buildings.

What’s the ranch like? It’s now on 150 acres and its super private, there’s nobody anywhere near you. Right now it’s stem spring flower season so there’s loads of little flowers everywhere because we had a lot of rain this year. You’ve got
