Executive Leadership Paul Zane Pilzer, Chairman & Founder Paul Zane Pilzer is a world-renowned economist, a highly successful social entrepreneur, an adjunct professor, and the author of nine best-selling books and dozens of scholarly publications. Pilzer completed Lehigh University in three years and received his MBA from Wharton in 15 months at age 22. He became Citibank's youngest officer at age 22 and its youngest vice president at age 25. At age 24, he was appointed adjunct professor at New York University, where he taught for 21 consecutive years. Over the past 30 years, Pilzer has started and/or taken public, five companies in the areas of software, education and healthcare. In healthcare, he is the Founder of Zane Benefits, Inc. (2006) and Extend Health, Inc. (1999), the two leading U.S. suppliers of personalized health benefits to corporate America including Wal-Mart's Sam's Club. Rick Lindquist, President Rick Lindquist, President of Zane Benefits, is an American entrepreneur and a frequent contributor, author, and sought-after speaker. In 2014, he co-authored a book with Paul Zane Pilzer called The End of Employer-Provided Health Insurance: Why It is Good For You, Your Family,and Your Company; a best seller on Amazon.com. Rick is responsible for the development of the firm’s flagship product, ZaneHealth, which helps employers ensure compliance with IRS, ERISA, and HIPAA regulations and the market reforms of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Rick joined Zane Benefits as its thirteenth employee in 2007. He was promoted to Director of Sales in 2009 and took over as President in 2011. Rick received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Duke University. Sarah Barnes, Senior Vice President Sarah joined Zane Benefits in 2014 with a wealth of operating experience. She spent 4+ years at Overstock.com as a member of the Executive Management Team responsible for running on-line marketing. Most recently, Sarah was a member of the leadership team and ran marketing at Daily Bread LLC -- a privately-held, fast-growing consumer goods company. Sarah began her career in commercial banking and investment banking at Barclays Bank PLC, Salomon Brothers and Salomon Smith Barney before joining The Mayfair Group as a Managing Director in private equity. She also spent several years working in asset management at Leucadia National Corporation overseeing strategic investments and portfolio companies. She holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Chris Hansen, CTO Chris Hansen is Zane Benefits’ Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining Zane Benefits, Chris was a Senior Software Architect at Experticity where he helped set the direction for the company's technology offerings and evolved the technical infrastructure for future growth and expansion. Prior to Experticity, Chris held various software development roles at Overstock.com. In his 7 years with Overstock.com, Chris lead software development teams on mission-critical projects and was a leader on the Software Architecture team in helping evaluate and integrate new technologies into the enterprise. Chris also served on the board for the Utah Java User Group from 2009 to 2014. Chris received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Utah. Chad Garner, Vice President of Sales Chad Garner is a sales executive with over 10 years of experience in both sales and marketing. Chad joined Zane Benefits from Daily Bread LLC, a fast-growing consumer products company. At Daily Bread, Chad was a member of the executive team; he played a key role in building a world class sales organization in the start-up phase, developing and retaining sales expertise in the growth phase and ultimately, the successful sale of the company. Over the years, Chad has also been responsible for many other important aspects of the business beyond sales: marketing, customer experience, product development, pricing strategy and branding. Twelve of Mark’s 20 years were spent as Managing Partner and Creative Director of Jibe Media, an advertising agency he co-founded in 2001. He joined Zane Benefits after serving as a Group Account Director and Managing Director over strategy for ThomasARTS, a mid-national marketing communications firm headquartered in Utah. Mark has provided strategic and creative expertise for many notable brands, including Aetna, AARP, Cigna, VSP, Zions Bancorp, HCA, Mrs. Fields and Skullcandy. Mark received a BA in Marketing from Utah State University where he also minored in Advertising Design. He received his MBA from the David Eccles School of Business at University of Utah. When he’s not busy maximizing campaign performance, you’ll find him in Utah’s mountains. David Eastman, CFO David Eastman is a General Partner at Prospector Equity Capital, L.P. He has been a Managing Director at Hunter Capital Group, the Fund's management company, since 1998. Mr. Eastman received his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of California at Los Angeles and his B.A. in Economics from Harvard University. W. James Tozer, Jr, Director Jim Tozer is an active venture investor and the President of Vectra Management Group, a real estate investment firm focused on Utah and Manhattan. He has formerly served as President of Prudential-Bache Securities, a Senior Vice President of Citibank and as a Senior Executive Vice President of Shearson Hayden Stone and, subsequently, of Marine Midland Bank. He was a founding investor and director of LendingTree. He holds a BA from Trinity College (where he is currently a trustee), and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Dalton Wright, Director Dalton Wright has over a decade of experience working with startups as an entrepreneur and venture investor. He is a partner at Kickstart Seed Fund, Utah’s most active fund with over 80 portfolio companies, and is currently completing a fellowship with the Kauffman Fellows Program. Previously he was on the founding team of the first early-stage venture fund in Mexico, Alta Ventures Mexico, which raised $70M to accelerate entrepreneurship in Latin America. He holds an MBA from
