AN INVITATION ...

Suppose for a moment that your next summer clerk will report to work next May or June having extensive knowledge and practice in performing legal research, drafting analytical memoranda, and preparing appellate briefs. Suppose that your next associate will report to work after the bar examination with extensive training in drafting pleadings, preparing a case for trial, and arguing before an appellate court. Suppose ftirther that your next clerk or associate received his or her legal education fi-om an assembly of top notch professors, practicing attorneys and judges, all with a goal of providing your next clerk or associate with the finest legal education available.

These are just a few of the practical skills Eind characteristics possessed by the students featured in the following pages.

Further, these students did not acquire their skills at the loss of a complete education in legal theory, which we recognize as being essential to the continued success of our students. On page 36, you will find a copy of our required curriculum. I think you will consider our curriculum to be abundant in traditional theory, and demanding by any standard.

I invite you to learn more about these students through on-campus interviews, or by permitting us to forward their resumes to you. Please visit our campus if you are in the area, or call our Career Services Office to discuss your summer or permanent placement needs.

We hope you are successfiil in finding the best candidate for the job, and we hope you consider these students in your selection.

Thank you.

Johnny C. Chriscoe, Jr. Associate Dean for External Affairs
