Following is a step by step guide for use of this Time Table. While Part-I deals with methods to find the correct table, the Part-II gives details of other useful information. Part-I Use any of the following method to find the required table. Method-I : Using the Station Index Go to the Station Index where, all stations are listed alphabetically. Locate your starting station and note down the Table number. Go to the relevant Table(s). Method-II Using the Train Index When you know the train number. Go to the Train Index where the train numbers are given in an ascending order along with the train name. Locate your train number and go to the table number given alongside. Method-III Using the Route Map with Table Numbers Passengers travelling between intermediate stations, can easily locate the relevant table using the Route Map with Table numbers. Go to the Route Map. Locate your starting station and trace the route to your destination station. The numbers along the route indicate the table numbers. Part-II Other useful information. 1. The stations are listed with their approximate distance from the major terminal. 2. Timings i) Indian Standard Time (IST) is followed in the Time Table. The 24 hour clock (Midnight to Midnight) is used to show the train timings. For example, 7.00 a.m. is 0700 hrs. and 7.00 p.m. is 1900 hrs. ii) In the timings columns ‘a’ indicates time of arrival at the station and ‘d’, time of departure. Dots shown against a station indicate that the train does not stop at that station when both ‘a’ and ‘d’ are shown against a station, the train stops for the specified time. When only one timing is given against a station, it indicates time of departure. iii) Timing of Mail/Express trains at originating and destination stations is indicated in the concerned Tables. iv) The bar-mark(—) used in the timing column against a station indicates that the train originates/ terminates there. 3 v) The arrow mark ( or ) used in timing column against the train and stations indicates that the train does not run via those stations. vi) The continuation or Table nos. is shown against the train service. 3. Abstract timing of the selected Mail/Express trains. The abstract timing of the selected Mail/Express trains running over Indian Railways is indicated in these pages. 4. Passenger Information. A lot of useful information on important commercial aspects of railway working such as booking of passen- ger and luggage, passengers reservation and ticket refund/claims and passenger amenities etc. have been included in this section.
