    Annual Activity Report – 2011-12 SMILE Samajik Evam Sanskritik Vikas Sanstha A group of likeminded people representing different walks of life like education, agriculture, social activism, health education and professionals got together with the objective to put their efforts together for deprived and needy people in scaling up their socio-economic status. SMILE Samajik Evam Sanskritik Vikas Sanstha was registered with Registrar Firms & Society, Raipur, bearing registration no. C.G. State-3381 on 31st May 2011. SMILE SESVS conducted the following programs: - July 2011 24th July 2011 SMILE Centre, Bagbahara. Day meal is provided to all the children as they come to centre. Drop outs and other non school going working children are taught and also encouraged and helped in getting admission to regular schools. August 2011 36 houses were surveyed from 12th August to 29th August 2011 at Bagbahara. Survey orientation was provided by Mr. Jeetendra Singh to Mr. Ashish and the teachers of SMILE Centre, Bagbahara. Content of the family survey form was briefed to the teachers and quarries of trainees were satisfied regarding the methodology of approaching the families for survey. 15th August 2011. Support was extended to Go India Foundation and YMCA in organizing the Blood Donation Camp at Medical College and Hospital, Raipur. 16th August 2011. Support was extended to Mrs. Lilly Bhagirathi for Independence Day Program at District Jail, Dhamtari. All the guests were welcomed by the Jail officials. Mr. Jeetendra Singh when introduced as SMILE representative talked about the hope in life encouraged for repentance and respect others. 185 prisoners were provided refreshments along a towel.

Abstract: Gandhiji was arrested on 5th May 1930. The agitators included no tax campaign in the programme. The movement had a great impact especially in the Dhamtaritahsil of Raipur district.As soon as on 5th April 1930, Gandhiji inaugurated salt Satyagraha, it affected especially in the Dhamtaritahsil. Regarding the making of salt with soil especially in the tahsil, in a huge crowd Pt. Narayan Rao Medhawale made salt and thus, here too broke the salt law. He made salt through the ancient method out of soil.After the refusal of August Offer 1940, Congress decided to start the “Individual Satyagraha”, under the Leadership of Gandhiji. His main motive of the Satyagraha was to protest the policies of British Govt. I. Introduction Dhamtari – Civil Disobedince Movement And Celebration Of First Independence Day And Making Of Salt With Soil 1930 In 1929, a demand for full Swaraj came during Lahore session under the Chairmanship of J. L. Nehru. The British Govt. had rejected the Nehru report of 1928, thus, in Lahore session Congress passed the resolution of complete Independence. On 31st August 1930 the Congress unfurled the National Flag and Congress Committee was authorized to begin the Civil Disobedience Movement in the country. It was also decided that every year on 26th January, the Independence Day should be observed and the First Independence Day was observed on 31st August 1930.

He wanted to encourage the action of democratization. Because he knows that it is one of the basic indicator of social development. Educated citizens make democracy to function well. Every aspect of development is linked to education and knowledge.He emphasized on the importance of the development of our education system in such a way which will create a better and happier India. He says that we should organize our system of education that the majority of our people, having passed through the secondary stage, are able to engage themselves in the different professions. Education and development are correlated with each other. Without education we can‟t imagine that the country is developing. One of the main objective of education should be to promote national unity on the basis of a rich diversity of cultures and beliefs. Maulana Azad supported this idea. He wanted to reconstruct the national education to create a unity among all our people.
