Students. 400 students of English Medium participated in the programme. Mr. Aslam Charaniya was the key speaker in this programme on 19th July, 2018. Dr. Girish Kumar Rana coordinated the training Programme. He introduced Mr. Aslam and his colleagues. Mr. Aslam focused on the changes in Robot and smart printing in the coming years and their effects on employment and career building. He focused on technical and digital development and let the students understood about Artificial Intelligence and its effect which will make a lot of changes in future and explained the different issues of current youths through the videos and ppts. He also stressed on not to be a job seeker but creator. He focused on entrepreneurship and motivated the youth to be creative and inspired them by saying that they can change India. Prin. Dr. K. N. During the seminar, there were extensive sessions on Introduction to commodity Derivatives, Benefits of Hedging, History of commodity Derivatives Markets, Regulation and Economic Benefits of Commodity Derivatives. Motivational speech and health awareness were also covered by him in that seminar. The keynote speaker was Pritiben zaveri. Principal Dr. K. N. Chavda, Dr. G. N. Rana, Prof. Hema Dave and Prof. Chhaya Naik gave their precious presence in the seminar. Total 367 students & their parents got the benefit of this seminar and find a solution of their problems. With the skills and strategies learned during the seminar, parents can help children grow in confidence and resilience. Pritiben zaveri show parents how to get more cooperation from children, to communicate more, to try new things and to persevere – as well as how to do well academically and socially. Parents learned how to support children in academic, artistic and sporting endeavors - without placing undue pressure on the children. Bansal Professor & Head, Department of Community Medicine, Surat Municipal Institute of medical Education & Research, Surat, India Email: [email protected] ABSTRACT Female foeticide besides skewed sex ratio and its attendant social evils has grave ethical undertones, especially for medical professionals and our commitment to save lives. Randomly selected 270 women were interviewed using a semi-structured interview schedule to explore the female foeticide perceptions and practices among couples in Surat city. Only 148 (51.9%) of the women were aware of the fact that 3 female children killed every minute in India. Prenatal sex determination among their relatives and neighbours were reported by 80% respondent, though they themselves had never resorted to it. Could this figure influence the proxy rates for community behaviour, perhaps, this needs indepth exploration. Supporting to this fact, 25.9% respoindents reported of ever been pressurized by their family members to undergo prenatal sex diagnosis of their foetus. Encouragingly 90% respondents had opined that that repeated prenatal sex diagnosis and abortions are detrimental to the mental and physical health of a woman and is wholly preventable. Stricter laws and honest enforcement of these laws were the commonest suggestions by respondent to prevent female foeticide in society.

The present study attempts to address the desired gender preferences of the first child of couples in Surat city. Randomly selected 270 women were interviewed using a semi structured questioner. It was observed that just below two-thirds (63%) of the respondents had expressed their contentment with either gender choice. Of the remaining the majority had expressed their desire for a male child (22.2%) followed by a female child (14.4%). ‘Ensuring continuation of family name’ was the most cited reason for preferring male as a first child while ‘females are considered as the ‘Laxmi’ of the house’ was the most common reason for favouring female as first child. However, Nearly all of the respondents (98.9%) profess that boys and girls should be given equal rights. At the minimum the study revealed that the people of Surat city are becoming sensitive towards the issue of male child reference or at least adopting a politically correct attitude in public settings.

Received: April 02, 2019 Accepted: May 10, 2019 ABSTRACT: The present study is aimed to analyze the physicochemical properties and Water Quality Index in order to assess the suitability of water for drinking purposes. Analysis of public drinking watercarried out from six sampling sites which is Ground water, Tapi river water (Amroli), Katargam Water Works (Inlet), Katargam Water Works(Outlet), SMC (home supply), RO of Surat, India. pH, Total alkalinity, Chloride, Fluoride, Phosphate, Sulfate,Nitrate, COD, Phenol, Ammonia were analyze. The methodology for physicochemical analysis of drinking water sample is followed by standard methods for examination of water and waste water by American Public Health Association (APHA). Chloride content of Ground water is 884.72 mg/L are above the IS acceptable limit but below the permissible limit. Fluoride of Ground water , Tapi river water and KWW Inlet is 4.0 mg/L , 4.0 mg/L and 3.9 mg/L respectively are above that both IS permissible and acceptable limit. Phenol of Ground water is 0.01 mg/L and Tapi river and KWW inlet is 0.1 mg/L are above IS permissible limit. Ammonia of Ground water and Tapi river water and KWW Inlet is 1.05 mg/L and 0.7 mg/L and 0.7 mg/L respectively are above the IS acceptable and permissible limit.
