8 ACADEMY PLAYERS CALLED UP

EIGHT FC DALLAS ACADEMY PLAYERS HAVE BEEN CALLED IN ACROSS THREE U.S. NATIONAL TEAMS FOR DOMESTIC CAMPS IN EARLY JUNE. Julian Hinojosa, Gibran Rayo, and Tanner Tessmann join the U-18s as they gather for the fourth training camp of the 2018-19 cycle from June 4-11 at the U.S. Soccer National Development Center in Kansas City, Kan. Hinojosa has made an appearance in 24 games so far this season while starting in 22 of them for FC Dallas U-17s. Rayo has made 24 appearances and has started in 21 games for FC Dallas U-19s while tallying 10 goals so far this season. Roberts has played alongside Rayo on the U-19 squad and has started in 16 of 20 games this season. He also has eight goals on the season as well. Tessmann rounds out the call- ups boasting 11 goals in 24 appearances and 20 starts for Dallas U-17s. The U.S. Under-16 Boys’ National Team and the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team will hold concurrent training camps at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., from June 2-10. U.S. U-16 BNT head coach Shaun Tsakiris will lead both age groups during the camp as U-17 MNT head coach John Hackworth continues his duties across the pond, serving as an assistant coach for the U.S. Senior Men’s National Team. Beni Redzic and David Rodriguez will join the U-17s, whose preparation continues for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru. The 17s are gathering for the fifth time since the team first assembled to kick off the 2018-19 cycle at December’s 2017 Nike International Friendlies. Teammates on FC Dallas U-17s, Redzic and Rodriguez earned their spots following a successful start to the 2017-18 season. Rezdic has started in all 18 appearances for FC Dallas and has added 15 goals to his stat line as well. Rodriguez has scored two goals on eight appearances and five starts. Dante Sealy and Edwin Villarreal join the U-16s as they gather for the fourth time since their 2018-19 programming began, when the unit was part of the Men’s YNT Summit. After the Summit, the BNT held a domestic camp at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif. in March before traveling to Italy for the 15th Torneo delle Nazioni in April. There, the U.S. took home third place after impressive wins against Italy (1-0), Macedonia (2-0), Croatia (2-0) and Japan (2-0). Sealy has 10 goals on the 2017-18 campaign for FC Dallas U-16/17 in 14 appearances and 11 starts. Villarreal currently has a three goals on 14 starts and appearances for FC Dallas U-15. The last time FC Dallas (7-1-5) suffered a loss was back on April 29 at the hands of New York City FC. It would be the only time Dallas would take a loss up to this point in the season. Four wins and two draws later, FCD finds itself firmly in second place in the Western Conference with a four-point cushion ahead of Real Salt Lake. Dallas is now set for its first meeting with the Montreal Impact (4-10-0) this season tonight for an East vs. West matchup.

FC DALLAS SUPPORTERS

DALLAS BEER GUARDIANS Founded in 2011, the Dallas Beer Guardians have grown to over 1,000 members that regularly fill the Budweiser Beer Garden at the north end of Toyota Stadium. The motto “Sanguinem Sudorem et Cervisiae” (loosely translated to, “Blood, Sweat and Beers”) is an appropriate representation of the passionate support for FC Dallas in singing for 90 and producing tifo displays to honor the team, the efforts to represent FC Dallas fans in the community, and a reputation of holding one of ’s best tailgates. Join us before the game in the Corolla Red Lot, off World Cup Way close to the west gate, before marching into the stadium in full voice with flags waving, and give the team your all! FC DALLAS SUPPORTERS

EL MATADOR El Matador is one of the oldest active FC Dallas supporters groups and the only one that actively chants in both Spanish and English. Located in the Budweiser Beer Garden, El Matador drums, chants and sings for 90 minutes at every FC Dallas match as well as creates flags, banners and tifos in support of Oscar and the boys. El Matador tailgates in the northeast grass lot before every game and invites all to join. Membership is free and all you need to do is bring your voice and two arms to waive a flag. Fiesta con todos!

LONESTAR LEGION Lone Star Legion is an independent supporters collective for FC Dallas. Our goal is to create an atmosphere in support of our club on game days, either home or away. Membership is free, and to become a member just show up and lend your voice for the boys on the pitch. We have members around the stadium, but we invite you to join us in the Budweiser Beer Garden. By being a collective group, our members have the unique ability to guide the group in its decision making process. In our support, we use many different styles from all over the world. We use chants from England, and Latin America as well as tifos from eastern European countries. We all have different styles of supporting our club, but the one thing that binds us together is our love for FC Dallas. Lone Star Legion acts as an umbrella group that looks to incorporate other groups to create a fusion of massive support for FC Dallas. We want to hear from you, and we want you to be represented. Hang your banners, and share your ideas with us because we want to put them into action.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY MONTRÉAL IMPACT

OPPOSING STRENGTHS Both teams come into this matchup fresh off of wins from the past week. Montreal snapped a four-game losing streak by defeating the Houston Dynamo at home 1-0. Impact Head Coach Rémi Garde switched formations to a 4-2-3-1, and it paid off as Montreal earned its first win in almost a month. Impact midfielder Jeisson Vargas scored the lone goal of the game on the brink of halftime and raising his goal total to four on the season. FC Dallas enters this game with more momentum than the Impact. Currently on a six-game unbeaten streak in Major League Soccer play, Dallas is coming off a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup victory over San Antonio FC on Wednesday night.

KEY MATCH-UPS Reggie Cannon vs. Ignacio Piatti — With a talented midfielder like Piatti, eyes will be kept on him throughout the match. Cannon will be one of few to have the task of marking Piatti in an effort to slow him down. With pace on the sideline, Cannon has the ability to slow Piatti down enough for the Impact player to have an off game.

Maxi Urruti vs. Evan Bush — The Impact have given up a MLS-worst 29 goals on the season while FCD has proved to have one of the most potent attack in the league. Maxi Urruti and Roland Lamah have combined for 12 of Dallas’ 22 goals this season, and Bush will have the tough test of trying to stop a barrage of shots that will come his way this weekend.

PROJECTED XI Montreal Impact (4-2-3-1): Evan Bush, Daniel Lovitz, Jukka Raitala, Rod Fanni, Chris Duvall, Saphir Taïder, Samuel Piette, Ignacio Piatti, Jeisson Vargas, Raheem Edwards, Louis Béland-Goyette

KEYS TO THREE POINTS FCD is currently on a winning streak while the Impact have struggled for most of the season. Being at home helps Dallas immensely and should be one of the deciding factors of this matchup. FCD’s fine form at home mixed with the Impact’s struggles on the road is hard to change for both teams. Urruti, Lamah and the rest of the attack will have to be at their best against a defense which is known for the amount of goals conceded. Dallas’ defense has to keep an eye on Piatti at all times, and Cannon will have to be the main reason why Piatti stays quiet. It’s a tall task for a young player, but Cannon has shown he can play with the best in MLS.
