At 5 am Debby was located approximately 25 miles SE of St. Augustine with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. Debby is becoming less organized as it reaches the east coast of Florida and is expected to move away from the Florida coast this afternoon. Rainfall will continue to diminish across Florida today with some isolated rainfall amounts of up to 1 inch will be possible in some of the lingering rain bands. St. Johns County is under o Coastal Flood Advisory until 7 pm - Minor coastal flooding this afternoon into early evening, especially near high astronomical tides mid afternoon. o High Surf Advisory until 7 pm - Wave heights of 5 - 7 feet can be expected o Rip Current Statement - strong northeast winds and building seas will create dangerous rip currents through this evening. Dangerous swimming condition will exist in the surf zone. Large breakers can knock you down and make you susceptible to rip currents. NWS is advising to stay out of the water until conditions improve Today's Weather: A 20 percent chance of showers before 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Windy, with a north wind between 16 and 24 mph. Tonight's Weather: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Breezy, with a north wind between 7 and 17 mph. Tonight's Event at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall "Eric Johnson" is proceeding as scheduled. Staff, along with CSC Security, will be available to escort attendees from their vehicles to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. St. Johns County Solid Waste is advising that garbage collection is taking place on regularly scheduled days but that service has been slowed due to the weight of the wet garbage as well as flooded access roads.
