Depois, fez parte da celebração de aniversário dos 80 anos do The Voice, no Carnegie Hall, e a plateia veio abaixo ao interpretar I Don’t Know Why I Love You Like I Do acompanhado por seu pai. Having concentrated on the music of Paul McCartney, Johnny Mercer, and Frank Sinatra over the last two years, Pizzarelli has returned to the bossa nova of Jobim with his 2017 release Sinatra & Jobim @ 50. With co- vocalist Daniel Jobim, grandson of the legendary Brazilian composer, the two explore songs Sinatra and Jobim recorded, as well as add new songs flavoured with the spirit of the classic Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim album. Pizzarelli has toured North America, South America, Asia, and Europe, performing shows centered on Frank Sinatra’s centennial, the songs of Johnny Mercer, and a McCartney program, in which his quartet is joined by strings and a horn section. He also tours on a double bill with pianist Ramsey Lewis. While plenty of jazz greats influenced his work, Nat King Cole has been Pizzarelli’s hero and foundation over the last 25 years. He devoted two albums to his music, Dear Mr.

But for :hose of us old and lucky enough to have been caught up in that British Invasion of '64, it'll be a nice revisit to those times, espec ally with Capitol's release of the first two of six CDs of Beatles rari- ties. For those who missed out on the Beatles in their prime, this is their best shot at the full story. And for the companies involved in the production- Apple Corps, Inc., ABC-TV, and Capitol/EMI-it's a big -backs bonanza. They are taking no chances, how- ever. As we report inside, the total cost of the market- ing of Anthology will be around $20 million. Our package, put together by our managing editor, Ben Fong -Torres, gives you a head start on all the hype, and includes revisits with Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Yoko Ono; with Top 40 at the height of the craziness, and with Dave Rothstein, a Gavin staffer who's not ashamed that, at 40 -something, he's still a Beatlemaniac.
