IMPAR Impar Achievements GUIDELINES ISSUED IMPAR issued Muharram guidelines in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Indian government and as proposed by Imamia Medics International as to how to commemorate the holy month of Muharram in times of Covid-19. The guidelines were issued after the team of IMPAR interacted with 50+ clergies and sending queries pertaining to the same to the authorities of Iraq and Iran and have been formulated in consultation with local and global views of experts, community leaders, religious leaders, health practitioners and stakeholders of the community. The guidelines were issued in English, Hindi and Urdu. LEGAL ADVOCACY IMPAR filed a complaint against Sudarshan News Channel and Sh. Suresh Chavhanke, its promoter. Complaint has been filed by Changhez Khan Sahab, IMPAR Legal Team in Police Station Jamia Nagar, Okhla Delhi. COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONCERNED AUTHORITIES In its endeavour to establish channels of communication and engage with the administration and political leadership of the country, IMPAR wrote various letters of concern. IMPAR sent a letter to the Vice President and Managing Director of Facebook India Mr. Ajit Mohan concerning the Termination of Ankhi Das, FACEBOOK Content Chief in India for telling her colleagues that punishing violations by politicians from the ruling party would damage the company’s business prospects in the country. IMPAR urges Facebook India to take corrective measures against hate content. Another letter was written to the Election Commission of India addressing Chief Election Commissioner Sh. Sunil Arora, Election Commissioners Sh. Sushil Chandra and Sh. Ashok Lavasa concerning the ECI’s conspiratorial conduct in disclosing identity of Muslims to the biased Delhi Police which further helped them in witch-hunting students and intimidating them with torturous investigation. IMPAR also wrote letters in the case of Sudarshan News and Suresh Chavhanke requesting for suspending the sponsorship of Sudharshan News. IMPAR addressed National Commission for Minorities; DM, Gautambudh Vihar,; SSP, Noida; Ministry of Minority Affairs; Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting; Secretary, Information & Broadcasting; Secretary Genral, National Human Rights Commission; Chief Secretary, UP; and DGP, UP; Mr R.S.Sodhi; Managing Director GCMMF Limited. As Amul is one of the show’s sponsors, we requested them to suspend the sponsorship as visibly the program is serving the vested hate laced interests. Given Amul’s glorious contribution in the making of the modern India, sponsoring a show like this would be like undoing the legacy of Amul and becoming a tacit partner in the hate agenda. Therefore, we requested Amul to withdraw the sponsorship. COMMUNITY WORK As part of IMPAR’s reforms agenda, cleanliness drive was conducted at Begumpuri Mosque, New Delhi, 14th Century oldest and the biggest mosque of Delhi. Our volunteers laboriously cleaned the mosque compound. IMPAR team conducted awareness, mask distribution and cleanliness drive at Masjid Mohammadiya, Holambi Khurd, Metro Vihar, New Delhi. IMPAR cleanliness drive was conducted at Muntazima Committee Masjid Shaide e Islam near Hari enclave (North West Delhi). The volunteers cleaned the madarsa/ mosque compound, and were also engaged with the residents of madarsa on issues of cleanliness, introspection and community. IMPAR CLEANLINESS PROGRAM is designed for taking up responsibility of our surroundings, to motivate youth towards cleanliness and hygiene and make them responsible. As it is rightly said, “Cleanliness is half Iman”. IMPAR volunteers ran a drive for IMPAR guidelines on Muharram at four different constituencies after Friday prayer and distributed outside mosques.
