Of vital importance, both his trusty seed and the Ocarina of Time are lost to the imp, and in pursuit, Link tumbles into a vast chasm, unknowingly leaving his world of Hyrule behind. Following a vision of Deku Scrubs (including a final massive specimen) chasing him, Link finds himself among their number. The only silver lining of this turn of events is Skull Kid callously leaves behind one of his two companions. A couple of things I love about this intro: Deku Link's reaction to his new reflection; Link breaking the fourth wall, staring at the camera and holding his hands up in a shrug after Tatl's proposal; the fact that the fleeing shrubs manifest right on the Hyrule border ... I'd be much more upset if I finished the project nine days from now than if I don't even start the Adult Timeline until late summer. I've still not grown as fond of that line as nearly every other red blooded LoZ fan on the planet. These bit players from OoT taking on such prominent roles, that I like. Link is charged w/ recovering this vital mask, and y'all know the rest. The clock is ticking! Probably just the first cycle tonight, and as I work three of the next four days, we'll see from there. Between this, the Oracles, and the Wind Waker, the series took a turn for the quirky. This era of Zelda pretty much defined my middle school years. That being said there were times when I wasn't sure if I actually like MM based on the unease it made me feel. Looking back though I played it the most. I briefly considered leaving this out until Link could abuse the Bunny Hood, but weighing more bush rupee grinding against adding anything in in the crunch of Hylian Link cycles made it a no-brainer. Clock Town is so tremendous. I'm partial to Skyloft and Outset, but it's right up there on my settlement list Knightro.
