GOVT. OF POLICE NOTIFICATION

No. TP. / 18 Dated, Kolkata, The 5th June, 2021

Whereas it is necessary in the interest of public safety and convenience to facilitate Static and dynamic Load testing of Bridge over Circular Canal and preparation of a DPR undertaken by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority, I, Soumen Mitra, IPS , Commissioner of Police ,Kolkata, in exercise of power vested in me under section 115,116,117,122 and 126 of M.V.Act, 1988, Section 62, 62(lB) of Calcutta Police Act. 1866, 39, 39 (1B) of Calcutta Subn. Police Act 1866 read with Rule No. 85,86,87, 88 and 93 of the Rules for the Regulation of Traffic in Kolkata and its suburbs and under Sub- Section (1) of Section 4 of the West Bengal Traffic Regulation Act, 1965(W.B. Act XV of 1965) read with Govt. of West Bengal Home (Transport) Dept. order No. 7605-WT, dated 20 th July, 1965 and Govt. of West Bengal in Transport Dept. Notification No. 3363-WT/3M/34/99 dated the 29 th April’ 1999, do hereby order that vehicular circulation pattern for closure of Chitpur Bridge over Circular Canal will be made in the following manners:-

 North Bound traffic, coming along C.R.Avenue > J.M.Avenue, will be diverted from Raj Ballav Para Crossing towards 5 Point Crossing > R.G.Kar Road > Road > Raja Manindra Road > B.T.Road.

 South bound traffic, coming from B.T.Road, will avail Lock-Gate Flyover > P.K.Mukherjee Road > > Shyambazar 5Point Crossing.

 Lock-Gate Flyover will be operational from North to South direction round the clock.

 South Bound traffic, coming along Road , will avail Cossipore Bridge > P.K. Mukherjee Road > Bidhan Sarani > Shyambazar 5 Point Crossing.

 P.K.Mukherjee Road will remain same as before i.e. West to East direction.

 Galiff Street will remain same i.e. East to West direction.

 North Bound Good Vehicles coming, from Rabindra Sarani, will be diverted via B.K.Paul Avenue > C.R.Avenue > J.M.Avenue > Raj Ballav Para > Bhupen Bose Avenue > 5 Point Crossing.

 Heavy good vehicles, coming from Posta, will be diverted towards Crossing to avail > Manicktala > Crossing (avoiding APC Road North Bound) > Hudco Crossing > VIP Road.

This will come into force immediately and will continue till completion of the proposed work.
