COMPLIMENTARY MATCHDAY SUPPLEMENT/ BOLTON WANDERERS VS BRADFORD CITY CARABAO CUP ROUND ONE CLUB COMMUNITY SAT 5 SEP 2020 | K.O 3PM ONE TOWN IANGood afternoon firstly EVATT to our supporters, who will be watching this Carabao Cup tie against Bradford City on the club’s iFollow stream. I’d also like to welcome Stuart McCall, his staff and players to the University of Bolton Stadium for today’s fixture. Today marks the first competitive match of the campaign following our pre-season schedule. I’m very excited for today’s game and the season ahead. This is a massive club and it is a fantastic opportunity. The fact that we’ve sold over 7,000 season tickets in a pandemic with the fans not knowing when they can come back says to me that they are buying into what we’re trying to do. We’ve got a lot of work left to do before we earn their trust and belief, but we’re putting in the hard yards to make sure we do that. Every game has its importance whether it’s a cup match, a league match or even an in- house training game. You have to try and win every game and have that winning mentality. Bradford are a big club in their own right and they’ll fancy their chances in League Two this season. It’ll be a decent test because it’ll be a good benchmark to see where we’re at. This is the real stuff now and we’ve been waiting a long time for this. Hopefully the lads will go out there, focus on the process, what we’re trying to do as a team and if we do that then I’m more than confident we’ll get the right result. Enjoy the game, Ian Evatt. You will see this week that I have re-hashed an old article that I first published a few months ago with regards to Staking and Bank Strategies (some bits of it may still be the same than in its first publication). I decided to do this last Saturday night when I got out and about my beautiful cathedral city (apologies for my dodgy camerawork) for some fresh air following the news of the new UK ‘Lockdown’. I put the word lockdown in inverted comma’s as most people are still going out the house everyday so not quite sure it is he right word to use but most of us should have more time on our hands during the month of November. We should utilise any time this month for some reflection on our betting strategies and how we can best use the many bonuses and welcome offers that betting companies offer. Take a read, or a re- read, and let me know what you think and tell me if you think I have left anything of that jumps out at you. This is a collective effort to take money off the bookmakers! This week we have a few recaps of League Two bets made pre-season and also some NFL wagers made ahead of time. Talking of NFL bets, take a look at what is pictured to the right here. It saddens me to say that this is the last time you will see the NFL Magic Whiteboard. I enjoy betting certain markets in the NFL as I love the research that it entails in terms of game flow and how the match may progress.

COMPLIMENTARY MATCHDAY SUPPLEMENT/ BOLTON WANDERERS VS NEWCASTLE UNITED U21’S PAPA JOHN’S TROPHY TUESDAY 17 NOVEMBER 2020 | K.O 7PM CLUB COMMUNITY ONE TOWN IAN EVATT I’d like to wish you all a good evening as you prepare to watch tonight’s final group game of our Papa John’s Trophy campaign on iFollow. A warm welcome also to our visitors this evening who have travelled down from the North East. Tonight’s game gives me the opportunity to give minutes to some of the players who have not featured regularly in the first team over recent weeks. Some of these players have got things to prove to me and show that they are ready to be called upon again. It’s an audition. Every time you step on the grass it’s an audition and you’re performing for yourselves, for the club, for the fans, for me, for your families and you have to have that mentality and mindset. Now obviously they’re out of the team so you have to make sure that you go and show the manager what you’re about and what you’re capable of and then put yourself in his thoughts. The most important people at any football club aren’t the starting 11, they’re easy to keep happy. It’s the ones outside of that and they have to understand that the whole club can only perform if they’re performing. The ones who started on Friday in our win against Salford will not be involved because there are so many games coming up and we need to rest their legs.

Hello All, Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and it was great to see, in some limited ways, football fans back into stadiums in England last Saturday afternoon. Below were the ‘sell out’ scenes at Carrow Road where Norwich left it late to rescue a point against Preston North End as Canaries fans were able to bask in the late summer sun in East Anglia. They were scenes played out at a few other grounds around the country and we all had our fingers crossed that if we could all behave in the next few weeks we would soon be able to start watching our favourite teams in person. The news that came on Tuesday afternoon when Boris Johnson spoke to the nation really came as a blow to us all and the chances of getting crowds into grounds this season now really looks a long way off. Did Brentford deliberately try and make their new stadium look like a Subbuteo Stadium? If they did, they nailed it as it hardly looks real when you are watching on television! I have to say having been a regular over the past few seasons to Brentford I would really miss my trips to the tight confines of the old ground and it will be interesting to see how the Bess perform in their home. Griffin Park smelt of Bovril whenever I stepped through its gates and I mean that in the very nicest of ways as it had the feel of an incredibly old football ground steeped in history. Yes, clubs need to move forward and progress but I can’t help but feel that Brentford has lost a part of their history.
