Vol. 41, pp. 130-140 Четыре вида остроносых нототений (Nototheniops s. str.) известны из всех трех секторов Южного океана (рисунок): атлантического — Nototheniops larseni (Lönnberg) и N. nybelini (Balushkin), тихоокеанского — N. loesha (Balushkin) и индоокеанского — N.tchizh (Ва1ushkin) [Шандиков, 1987; 1990]. Обитают эти придонно-пелагические сублиторально-верхнебатиальные виды на континентальном (только Западная Антарктида) и островных шельфах, а также на талассобатиали подводных гор. Таким образом, современный тип ареала рода Nototheniops можно определить как циркумантарктический прерывистый. Виды (и подвиды) нототениопсов, как правило, обитают в довольно ограниченных районах Южного океана, где они распространены аллопатрично, т.е. являются узкими локальными эндемиками этих районов [Шандиков, 1990]. Наиболее широко остроносые нототении распространены в Западной Антарктике, откуда известны 2 вида — N. larseni и N. nybelini. Распространение -

We recorded it in seven fish species, elasmobranchs Amblyraja georgiana, Bathyraja eatonii, and B. maccaini and teleosts Antimora rostrata, Chionobathyscus dewitti, Dissostichus mawsoni, and Muraenolepis marmorata, caught in the Ross Sea, the D’Urville Sea, the Mawson Sea, and the Weddell Sea. The infection of A. rostrata from the part of its distribution to the south of the Falkland Islands is reported for the first time. -

Kellermann) .....................................................................................................45 Preface This booklet has two parts which are cornplementary to each other: an identification key which atternpts to include larvae from all fish families occurring in the Southern Ocean, and a catalogue which considers only the early Stages of the most abundant bottorn dwel- ling fishes, the percomorph notothenioid fishes. The original idea conceived in 1985 was to produce a synopsis of what was known about the larval development and ecology of notothenioid fishes as the peculiar element of the Antarctic fish fauna. Later On, when ichthyologists had become aware that difficulties still existed in identifying these larvae, it was suggested during the BIOMASS Post-SIBEX Fish Data Evaluation Workshop held at Carnbridge, 1986, to have both, a key and a catalogue in one volume, with the key to be produced in collaboration with Tony North of the British Antarctic Survey. -

In this assemblage, Accepted 11 December 2017 sharks clearly dominate the fauna, whereas batoids are very rare components. Herein, we describe two new KEYWORDS taxa of cold water tolerant skates, Marambioraja leiostemma gen. et sp. nov., and Mesetaraja maleficapelli Batoids; Southern Ocean; gen. et sp. nov., two new species of the genus Raja, Raja amphitrita sp. nov. and Raja manitaria sp. nov., Paleogene; Antarctic as well as remains of warm water adapted myliobatiforms. It is, however, not possible to unambiguously Peninsula assign these remains either to Myliobatidae or Rhinopteridae, or to any specific genus. Previously reported remains of Raja/Bathyraja sp. are assigned to the new described species Raja manitaria sp. nov. The biogeographic distribution of extant and extinct rays and skates clearly shows that both groups are more widely distributed today than in the past, and additionally seem to have been more diverse in the Northern than the Southern Hemisphere. The occurrence, albeit rare of isolated teeth of skates (Rajidae) and rays (Myliobatidae) in the La Meseta Formation representes a minimum age constraint for their first appearance in the Southern Ocean. -
