In 2018, Roger Staubach was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom-the nation’s highest civilian honor. He was awarded the “Lombardi Award of Excellence” from the Cancer Foundation. He also supports The Children’s Cancer Fund, The Salvation Army, the United Way of America, and Founder of Allies in Service. Roger founded Allies in Service to reach out to veterans and their families to access quality healthcare, education, and meaningful employment.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Roger served four years as a Navy officer and is a Veteran. After the Navy, he joined the football team where he won two Super Bowls and popularized the term “Hail Mary.”

Roger has made significant contributions to the health and well-being of the community. He serves on The Cooper Institute Board of Trustees, dedicated to promoting life-long health and wellness through research and education. This research includes Movement Disorders such as Parkinson’s.

DAPS is honored to recognize Roger Staubach and acknowledge his personal achievements, example and inspiring contributions to the industry. DAPS serves as a resource for the Parkinson’s community. Classes include group exercise, partner support groups, educational meetings, dance for movement disorders, non-contact boxing, speech, and Move.Laugh.Connect. total well-being classes. DAPS touched people affected by Parkinson’s more than 56,000 times just in the last year. Thousands of lives have changed for the better because of DAP’S mission and the dedication of countless volunteers.

DAPS Lifetime Achievement Award DAPS is honored to partner with Cooper Aerobics Center to acknowledge Dr. Cooper for his contributions to the field of Movement Disorders. The Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH Lifetime Achievement Award is given annually to a deserving candidate.

Dr. Cooper has long advocated moving the field of medicine from disease treatment to disease prevention and is recognized as the leader of the international physical fitness movement.
