2000-Present Outreach Education (Local/National). Conduct ppt. presentations and hands-on experience with field equipment for school children (K-12) on topics relating to foreign cultures, conservation biology & global health.

2003-Present UW-inSPIRE Program (Students Presenting International Research Experiences). Founded and Direct this outreach education program where university students provide presentations on their intl. research experiences for greater Seattle area schools K-12.

2005 Tsunami relief in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Assisted in establishing an emergency Psychological Trauma Center and with body recovery. Also established the Aceh Student Assistance Fund (ASAF) to provide financial support for university students from Aceh, Indonesia who lost their and homes and families during the earthquake and tsunami.

2010 Served as a “UW expert on the earthquake crisis in Haiti,” via the UW NEWS, to provide comment to local/national media regarding similarities with the 2004 South Asian earthquake and tsunami.

2010 USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Hosted an exhibit, titled “What Can Animals Tell Us about the Future of the Earth,” featuring demonstrations/ hands-on experience with equipment used in field research and focusing on the interrelation of biodiversity conservation and human health - at the human-environment interface.
