In November, the Arab-Israeli video blogger Nuseir Yassin, known as NAS Daily, featured United Hatzalah on his Facebook page. The video he produced, which explains United Hatzalah’s history and model, has now Cases treated since 2006 been seen on Facebook more that 44 million times, making it one of his most popular videos to date. Along with the video came international recognition, with emails, phone calls, and letters pouring in from around the Emergency calls answered per year world from people looking to replicate the model in their communities, as far away as Singapore and Ghana. CPR trainings in the community The most important program that we developed in 2018 was our Day of Lifesaving campaign which allows people to sponsor all life-saving calls on a specific day in honor or in memory of someone or a special day. It is the most important program for United Hatzalah because it supports the actual cost of running the Volunteer medics organization and responding to over 1,000 calls daily. Getting every day of the year sponsored by someone will allow us to make the organization sustainable. The renovation of our headquarters in Jerusalem is now progressing to the second stage, building out our simulation center Defibrillators deployed and training facilities which will help us to deliver top training to our volunteers. Our building plaque program, which has various sponsorship opportunities available, is also underway. These building plaques allow our supporters to add their name to our headquarters and provide us the funds to help the continued renovation of the building, so that it can become Calls per day a true National Headquarters of lifesaving. I dedicated 2018 to something very dear and close to my heart, my campaign to equip as many United Hatzalah medics Ambucycles in United Hatzalah’s fleet as possible with defibrillators. Sadly, my brother in law passed away in Bnei Brak at the age of 61 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Volunteers had arrived on scene, but they did not have a defibrillator which could have saved his life. Thanks to our incredible supporters we raised funds to purchase 2,000 new defibrillators, which will help us save many more lives. Seconds average response time in Jerusalem This year we saw the inaugural year of Camp Hatzalah Rescue, a partnership with NCSY to bring teens to Israel for a summer program where they learn to be United Hatzalah medics. This program is helping provide an amazing experience for young high school students, and gives them an opportunity to make a true impact by teaching them how to save lives. Cities worldwide using United Hatzalah’s mode United Hatzalah looks to accomplish even more in the year ahead. We hope to purchase additional ambulances in order to provide free care and hospital transit. Many Israelis can’t afford ambulatory assistance as almost every emergency Minutes average response time nationwide ambulance service in Israel charges patients. This causes those patients, who are unable to afford to call an ambulance, to hesitate to call for help. We seek to fill this gap by providing free ambulatory care, as no one should be scared to call for help in times of an emergency. We are also expanding our events internationally, so that we can introduce more people to United Hatzalah around the world. Our most important goal, though, is to grow our number of volunteers from 5,000 to 6,000. Not only can we reach more people with 1,000 extra volunteers, but this will also help us reduce our response time so we can save lives even faster. Thank you so much for allowing me to make this all a reality, I’m so happy I could partner with you in lifesaving.
