  • What We Do at Chaps Parents Meetings

    What We Do at Chaps Parents Meetings

    What we do at ChAPS For children we run a range of regular activities on a monthly basis. We also run an Intensive Social Skills programme and a Mindfulness programme both in small groups for 8 weeks. The Club is our specialised socialisation group running weekly in Northwich. We also have Lego and Play Therapy intensive sessions. We always put on extra holiday activities like raft building, science workshops, working farm visits, climbing, tubing etc. For adults we run an Independence and Living Skills programme in small groups. Spectrum Connect our adults social group in Runcorn and Winsford, Crafty Club weekly in Runcorn or Northwich, Anti Gravity Yoga in Widnes, Counselling, monthly walk in Delamere Forest, extra social activities like bingo or quiz nights, art trips, salt mines etc. For parents we have lots of daytime and evening parent support meetings where you can learn how other parents access services, gain advice about an issue you are struggling to deal with. We have a training programme which includes topics such as the 7 senses, comic strip and social stories, transitions, girls on the spectrum, puberty, anxieties and stress management. ‘The Best Gift is YOU’ an empowering programme for 10 weeks targeting wellbeing and coping strategies. We also offer Counselling, an Advocacy service and run social events. We run the Attention Card with Cheshire Police and now Merseyside Police for anyone with a medical diagnosis which is a superb initiative giving support in emergency situations. An optional part of the application form is to list their difficulties and this information is then put onto the PNC and the police’s intelligence data system.

Executive Summary 1.1 The Annual Bonfire Period represents a period of increased activity for the Police and Fire and Rescue Services across the UK. The period considered for this report is 18 th October to 8 th November 2010. 1.2 Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) manifests in various forms during this period, which includes Halloween and Bonfire Night itself, and the ‘Mischief Nights’ which become adopted by the young people of the UK. 1.3 Mischief Night is mostly regarded as being the 30 th October, but in some areas the 4 th November is also a ‘Mischief Night’ where teens and pre-teens take the opportunity to ‘prank’ on doorsteps, or in some areas, indulge in more sinister forms of ASB ranging from egg throwing to acts which could be categorised as Arson with intent to endanger life.

    Cheshire Neighbourhood Watch Association Week ending 18th July 2021 Cheshire News & Appeals Latest Cheshire News Fundraising Detective Inspector getting in gear to help others affected by suicide A DI at Cheshire Constabulary has vowed to cycle 500 miles in five consecutive days to help prevent other families from being left devastated by a suicide. DI Deborah Morgan, of the force’s Strategic Public Protection department, blamed herself when her beloved brother Ross took his own life at the age of 31 two years ago. She had received suicide prevention training the previous year as part of her job, but did not see any signs of her brother needing help. DI Morgan is now determined to help others with mental health issues. All the money raised from her daunting charity challenge will go to Mind, the mental health charity. The 42-year-old mother of two adult children said: “I will be doing the challenge from Wednesday 4 August with my 52-year-old friend Nikki Morley, who is a beauty therapist and a mum of four adult children. Starting from Winsford, where we both live, we plan to cycle to Anglesey in North Wales on the first day and cycle back on the second. Days three and four will consist of cycling trips to Blackpool and Ellesmere in Shropshire. The last day of the challenge will be a circular Cheshire ride to hit the magic 500-mile mark. We are both keen cyclists, but we are no spring chickens anymore. However, we are determined to complete the challenge to raise funds for Mind and help to stop others from being left devastated by a suicide.
