Lifesaving in the water - Something that is of highest importance for everyone to know in case of an emergency at sea. There are people who doesn’t know what to do and how to act, if an emergency situation involving lifesaving in water, occur. At the other end of the scale there are a few skillful men and women who are perfectly educated and well trained in the honorable art of saving the life of a victim in a distress situation in the water. During seven days, in August, some of the world’s most skilled men and women, from eleven nations, will be gathered in Halmstad to compete and to determine who would be the best companion to have, if you encounter an emergency situation and require assistance in the water. Sweden is very proud to arrange, for the first time, this years Lifesaving champion- ship in the waters outside the beautiful town Halmstad. This is famous grounds for Swedish lifesavers education and work. The beaches in the area are very popular and lifesavers at work are essential. As the Chief of Staff Swedish Navy, I take great pleasure in being patron of the Lifesaving Championship 2016. My hope is that it will be an appreciated and decisive competition. I welcome you all and wish you the best of luck in the competition. I also hope you will all take the opportunity to follow the device of the International Military Sport Council; “Friendship through sport!” Rear Admiral Jens Nykvist Patron of the Lifesaving Championship 2016 4 CONTESTANTS AND LEADERS A warm welcome to Halmstad and World Military Lifesaving Championship. A total of over 1000 people are employed within Halmstad garrison at the various schools and units, making Halmstad one of the largest garrisons in Sweden. Included herein are the Air Defence Regiment, The Armed Forces Technical School, the Military Academy Halmstad. Parts of the Armed Forces Logistics Centre, the Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre and the Air Combat Training School are based here. The different sections have a well org- anised and functional system achieving maximum efficiency through cooperation, problem solving and best use of the resources available in the garrison. The teaching resources cover a wide range of courses from Basic Military Training to academic and advanced technical courses. In addition to our own resources, good use is made of the specialised services available within the civilian faculties in Halmstad, including the university, municipal departments such as fire and medical services and various companies amongst others. The garrison is situated close to the town centre and green areas. Within the locality are three modern military exercise areas for both theoretical and practical military training. These provide all the facilities needed to train soldiers in advanced mobile and anti-aircraft warfare as well as basic combat training. We have tried to create the best conditions for you so that this World Military Life- saving Championship will be fair, challenging and a great sports festival. Once again, welcome. Colonel Anders Svensson Commanding officer Air Defence Regiment and Halmstad Garrison 5 THE AIR DEFENCE REGIMENT (ADR) The Air Defence Regiment is an Army unit, but also has a vital role in the nation’s air defence, tasked with moni- toring swedish air space, detecting airborne threats and protecting vital objects and organisations from air attack. The two Air Defence Battalions within the national Armed Forces are trained and held in readiness within the fields of intelligence gathering through radar surveillance, com- bat control, logistics and defence against attack from the air using anti-aircraft missile systems. The ADR is on permanent stand-by for both national and international service and is responsible for organizing and training units for overseas operations. Officers and cadets in the Regiment are trained at the Air Defence Combat School (LvSS), which together with Hallandsgruppen (the Home Guard, Halland), are part of the ADR. The province of Halland has the highest life expectancy in Sweden. The recent health surveys in Sweden points to a noticeable better health in the county of Halland compared to Sweden as a whole. From a public health point of view, it is of interest to probe the distribution of the self-rated health among socio- demographic groups to explore if inequality in health exists even in this healthy population. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to analyze the distribution of obesity and psychosocial health in the largest municipality in Halland compared with the average for the province as a whole. Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: A simple random sample of 8,429 individuals was selected from a national survey that covered all individuals in the 18–84-year age group. A postal survey was thereafter conducted (The Statistics Sweden and The Public Health Agency in Sweden). General health Questionnaire (GHQ12) and Body Mass Index (BMI) were taken in the analyses. The statistically significant socio geographical differences in health were presented as maps using GIS-software (ArcMap 10.2). Analysis of the data was related to local key codes where densely populated areas with a higher response rate were assessed as the most statistically relevant to processing.

SCC ideate a data-centered society aimed at improving efficiency by automating and optimizing activities and utilities. Information and communication technology along with Internet of Things enables data collection and with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) situation awareness can be obtained to feed the SCC actors with enriched knowledge. This paper describes AI perspectives in SCC and gives an overview of AI-based technologies used in traffic to enable road vehicle automation and smart traffic control. Perception, smart traffic control and driver modeling are described along with open research challenges and standardization to help introduce advanced driver assistance systems and automated vehicle functionality in traffic. To fully realize the potential of SCC, to create a holistic view on a city level, availability of data from different stakeholders is necessary. Further, though AI technologies Citation: Englund, C.

This paper analyses population densities in Sweden, Finland, Norway and partly Denmark and analyses how a minimum impedance approach would set up the distribution center (DC) locations. For each scenario, travel time maps are generated. Firstly, each country is analyzed separately and 1...5 DC cases are analyzed. Then a merged Nordic area is introduced and a similar approach is used to set up 1…6 DCs. Finally, a sensitivity analysis is conducted to study how the large population of Umeå or Vaasa should be increased in order to make the top five in the Nordic level. The results show distribution centers could be formed in the case of population driven demand products. This also gives insight into how the results can vary when changing perspective from national analysis to Nordic level.
