Welcome to the 38th annual Music for All Summer Symposium, presented by Yamaha. From its beginning in June 1976, the Summer Symposium has grown into one of the largest and most comprehensive scholastic, music instruction camps in the nation.

Ball State, under the leadership of President Jo Ann Gora, prides itself on its entrepreneurial approach and commitment to immersive learning that redefines education. In Case of Medical Emergency

If you have a medical emergency during class time, inform your SWAGs or teacher, who will contact the Symposium medical staff immediately. If you have a medical emergency in the evening or overnight in the residence hall, contact the SWAG on your floor, who will contact the on-call medical staff. The nearby out-patient and emergency room services are available for medical emergencies that require additional attention. Charges for services will be billed to the individual participant. Rules for the Symposium • You are expected to attend all classes, evening events and residence hall floor meetings. Attendance will be taken as each class starts, and roll will also be taken at each evening floor meeting in your residence hall. If you are not present and are not with the nurse, an immediate search of the campus will commence. Absence without excuse is cause for dismissal. • You are expected to follow the rules and timelines regarding room assignments, curfew and lights out. • You are required to wear your name badge to all classes and functions. This helps us to identify you and to ensure that uninvited guests are not present. Similarly, please mark all of your luggage, instrument cases and belongings prominently with your name. • All prescription medication must be registered with the camp nurse during registration. • You must observe the TOBACCO FREE camp policy taken by Music for All. Cigarettes and chewing tobacco are not allowed in the possession of any student participant. • Use of alcohol or drugs is STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will result in immediate dismissal from camp. • No firearms or weapons are allowed on campus. Possession of weapons will result in immediate dismissal from camp. • You must not leave campus for any reason without making specific prior arrangements with the Music for All staff at Headquarters. • Appropriate behavior is expected at all times. • If you drive to BSU, you are required to turn in your car keys upon registration for the week of camp. I understand that Bands of America and Orchestra America are programs of Music for All, Inc. and that Music for All, Inc., its officers, directors, agents and employees shall not be nor later become, liable or responsible in any way in conjunction with the services they provide, or for any death, injury, damage, delay or irregularity which may occur to the participant while participating in this Music for All sponsored event. We hereby irrevocably grant to Music for All, Inc., its agents, licensees and assigns, the right to use in any and all media and in any and all forms this applicant’s name, likeness, photographic prints and any reproduction of his or her sounds, performance or appearance while attending the Music for All event, for any purpose including promotion, advertising or otherwise. With the use of the rights, we hereby release Music for All, Inc. and its agents, licensees and assigns from all claims, liabilities and/or damages which now or in the future may arise from such use. We hereby warrant that the audition recording submitted with this application was not edited in any way during post-production. Also, in case of emergency, I hereby give my consent for a qualified physician to perform any medical or surgical procedures s/he deems necessary to the welfare of this applicant while in the care of Music for All, Inc. or such physician. It is understood that Music for All, Inc. and medical personnel will make every attempt to contact parents, guardians, relatives listed above prior to taking any such actions. Further, this authorization permits said physician to hospitalize, secure appropriate consultation, order injections, anesthesia (local, general or both) or surgery for this applicant if such emergency conditions warrant. The undersigned does hereby assume and agree to pay in indebtedness or physician’s or surgeon’s fees and hospital charges for such service. Music for All, Inc. requires a written report of a physical examination performed within the preceding 36 months of the Festival by a qualified physician, registered nurse or other person recognized by law to undertake that responsibility. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Pattillo, Stephenson, and Seymour founded PROJECT Trio in Boulder, Colorado in the summer of 2005. e group initially came up with the idea to do one week “projects” in different cities around the US, with each project including education/ community outreach events and concerts of classical works and their own music. e Trio got its big break in 2006 when Greg Pattillo’s Beatbox Flute video went viral on YouTube, receiving millions of views in its first week.
