Fall River Fourth (July 3-4) Signature EVENTS A downtown street dance on Wednesday, July 3, begins the two-day slate of events, followed by running races, a downtown Wine Walk & Putt WEEKEND (May 22): parade, community picnic and Firequacker Duck Race in Fall A kick-off event for Hot Springs’ downtown businesses, set for River – all leading up to the evening fireworks display! 12 continued EVENTS CALENDAR Outdoor Competitions FIRECRACKER RACES (July 4) Kicking off the annual Fall River Fourth of July festivities each year are the Firecracker 5K, 10K and Mile races, beginning in Chautauqua Park with registration on the morning of Saturday, July 4.

Southern Hills (SEPT. 5): Held at Angostura Recreation Area, just south of Hot Springs, the event will celebrate its 23rd year this Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4, 2020. It features an Olympic Triathlon (1 Fall River Fourth of July Firecracker Races mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6 mile run), Sprint Triathlon (.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run), a Duathlon (3 mile run, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run) and Kids Triathlon (100 yard swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run). Mileages listed below are one-way unless otherwise noted. Go prepared: • Carry and drink plenty of water. • Check the weather forecast before starting and bring extra layers. • Large wildlife, including bison, elk, and mountain lions roam throughout the park. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Regulations require at least 25 yards from bison and elk at all times. • Topographic maps for each trail are available online or can be purchased at the visitor center bookstore.
