Domaine La Garrigue Vacqueyras la Cantarelle ‘15 W6366
Saddle leather, chocolate, peppery herbs and savory red and black fruits emerge from the 2015 Vacqueyras La Cantarelle. A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah, it’s a ripe, sexy, concentrated 2015 that has terrific tannin quality.

Casa Castillo Monastrell ‘16 W6360 SPECIAL EC DEAL
The first wine in the range is the 2016 Monastrell, which in reality contains some 8% combination of Garnacha and Syrah, cropped from a more continental, cooler and dry vintage. Like all the wines from the property, it fermented with indigenous yeasts, in this case with grapes from different plots, and matured in used oak barrels for 8-9 months. Juicy, primary, incredible fresh and with a vertical palate, longer than wider, and cool but dry.

Blessed with tremendous raspberry and blueberry fruit, the 2018 CdP Reserve adds nuances of dusty earth and crushed stone to the mix. It’s full-bodied, lush and creamy, ending on a flourish of dried spices-allspice, clove and star anise.
