We made our pin map by using layers of foam and a piece of cardboard at the bottom. I laminated the world map and then put it all together by using clear contact paper (though clear packing tape would work as well.

Animals of the 7 Continents: World Animal Packet (60+ pages)
Once the kids learned the 7-continents, we went on to talk about the animals of the world. I made a set of Montessori 3-part cards with the animals of the world.
My daughter used these as traditional Montessori cards – matching the picture and the word cards.
But she also used the smaller card sets as she sang the 7-continents song. In the picture to the right, you can see that she placed the animals of the 7-continents onto a map that we had (right) and onto satellite images of the different continents (included in the World Animal Packet).
Our World Animal Packet also includes various activity pages:
