Provo, Utah 84602 Forwards: Two starters—Bobbi Tillotson and Carolyn Swenson—are back to lead the BYU offensive attack this season. Annie Zwahlen and Jessica Aquino also return after being consistent offensive sparks off the bench. In 2005 Tillotson and Aquino tied for second on the team with six goals on the season, while Tillotson also led BYU with eight assists. Rockwood will look for Tillotson to continue to produce offensively this season. Zwahlen scored three goals and assisted on three others in 2005.

After scoring three goals and posting one assist in 2005, Rockwood saw Swenson take tremendous strides during the spring season and expects to see more improvement during 2006.

“Carolyn had the best spring season she’s played for us,” Rockwood said. “She worked really hard this spring and we expect great things from her come fall. She developed into a more versatile player during spring and may see some minutes in the midfield.” Seniors Amberlea Anderson and Brooke Bowman should also be dominant threats for the Cougars. After a thrilling 3-2 victory in front of a record crowd on Friday night the Cougars (4-1-0) suffered a 1-0 loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs (4-1-0) on a rainy and wet Saturday night. HEROIC MOMENT: Thanks to the heroics of goalie Erika Woodbury, the women’s soccer team defeated Georgia in a top-20 showdownon Fri. Sept. 1 in Atlanta. Fifteen minutes before game time, Woodbury jumped headfirst into the post while saving a warm-up shot. Shaken and bleeding from the head, she mustered up her strength and played one of the best games in her career. Trainer Carolyn Billings placed gauze on the wound and taped the majority of her head before kickoff. At halftime, the dressing was replaced as Woodbury had already bled through the bandages. The Polls The Cougars finished the 2005 season ranked in the top-25 in both the Soccer Times and Soccer Buzz rankings. They barely missed making the NSCAA/adidas top-25.
