A N T O N I N O S I R A G U S A - Born in Messina, he began his musical studies in his hometown at the conservatory "Arcangelo Corelli" under the guidance of Antonio Bevacqua. After winning the first prize at the International Competition "Giuseppe di Stefano" of Trapani, in 1996 he made his debut as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at Teatro Politeama in Lecce and as Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore in Pistoia, with unanimous consent by audience and critics. He started a successful career performing in some among the most important international theatres, including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan New York, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris, Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper of Munich, Teatro Real de Madrid, Liceu de Barcelona, New National Theatre of Tokyo, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia di Roma, Rossini Festival di , and working with such conductors as Valerij Gergeev, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Daniele Gatti, Maurizio Benini, , Renato Palumbo, , Bruno Campanella, Donato Renzetti, Yves Abel. Sophisticated performer of Rossini’s roles, Antonino Siragusa’s most famous portrayal is the Conte d’Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), his role of choice that he played in such theatres as Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper e Deutsche Oper di Berlino, Opéra National de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper di Monaco, Hamburgische Staatsoper, De Nederlandse Opera di Amsterdam, New National Theatre di Tokyo, NCPA Beijing, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Teatro Comunale di Bologna e Teatro Massimo di Palermo. Recently he performed successfully some Verdian roles: Rigoletto (Duca di Mantova) at Liceu de Barcelona; Falstaff (Fenton) in Genoa and Nice; Un giorno di regno (Edoardo) in Bilbao and La traviata (Alfredo) in Fano. In his career he sung in many important productions, such as Armida at Metropolitan New York, and L’elisir d’amore at Teatro Real in Madrid, Guillaume Tell (Arnold) and at Opernhaus Zürich, at Opéra de Lyon, La Sonnambula, Gianni Schicchi, La Cenerentola, Il barbiere di Siviglia and L’elisir d’amore at Wiener Staatsoper, Elisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra and I Puritani at La Monnaie in Brussels, Semiramide and at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Il barbiere di Siviglia ad I Puritani at Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, L’italiana in Algeri at Staatsoper Berlin, Rossini’s at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées de Paris and with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Don Giovanni conducted by Riccardo Muti at La Scala, Oedipus Rex at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in .
