1 We would like to present to you a collection of our students’ writing this year. Our students have worked on a wide variety of writing genres.

Through reading their writing, we can share their feelings and see the world through their eyes. We believe students will find writing more interesting and meaningful if they can choose their topics they are interested in. If students consider writing as a powerful tool for expressing their thoughts and feelings they will be more willing to write and share. Feedback and encouragement from the

PRINCIPAL CHENG PRINCIPAL readers are vital in enhancing student’s writing skills and confidence. We hope that the publication of this anthology can be a platform to nurture our young English writers.

Yours sincerely, Principal Cheng MESSAGE FROM MESSAGE

2 Ms Jade Lee – English Panel Head Witnessing the change and advancement of the English Language department in LUAAPS has been one of my greatest pleasures as a panel head. I am so grateful to have some inspiring, flexible and assertive teachers working as a team at this school who strive for the best in every aspect. Teamwork is the key. At the beginning of the curriculum reform, we started with small steps by conducting self-evaluation in school-based worksheet. Furthermore, we develop the strategies pedagogically in different learn- ing areas. Students are found to be more confident to monitor their learning progress. They know how to choose the right readers; they are able to comment on their books; they are able to write freely to express their thoughts and feelings; they are able to write stories with intriguing ideas; they become confident and competent to use English to communicate effectively. All the fruits we can find on our students prove that we are on the right track in establishing independent, effective and confident English learners. Now it’s the time to share the accomplishment of our lovely students with you all. They are our pride. Let’s rejoice and celebrate their success together.

Mr Adrian Lau – English Panel Head As a new Panel Head this year, and having been a member of this fledgling English Team for several years, I have had the opportunity to witness first-hand the importance of a strong team with a coherent mindset in order to facilitate optimal student learning. Throughout the years, we have attempted to build an immersive English learning environment, which offers the students the biggest chance to improve themselves in all aspects of English: reading, writ- ing, speaking and listening. Our aim is to give students a solid foundation whereby they can reach their English potentials. Through activities, games and plenty of hard work, we want the students to ENGLISH TEAM’S be able to show their abilities in English as best as they can. As always, the students at our school are a wonderful bunch. They give us inspiration and brighten up our days with their individuality and innocence. Becoming so close with each other is evidence of a learning environment brimming with joy, comfort and respect. These are all qualities that make us proud to call them our students. This anthology is a testament to all of their hard work. It gives each and every student in our beloved school a chance to show their English skills using creativity, imagination and confidence. I am so proud to see their progress year upon year and I hope you enjoy reading their work as much as I did. Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our most sincere gratitude to all of our English team. Our local teachers; Ms Mok, Ms Ho, Ms Hung, Mr T and Ms Zee have all been out- standing. As have our ever popular native English teachers; Mr Turner and Mr D’Aulerio. None of this could have been accomplished without any one of you. You are all amazing teachers and it’s an absolute pleasure to work with you! FOREWORD

ist spilt some apple juice on the floor.” Next, he interviews the guard PRIMARY FIVE John, he said, “I was on patrol.” Finally he interviewed Lily the tourist. “I was drinking at the bar.” Detective Ron was doubtful, “Can I watch the CCTV?” “Ok,” said the guard “I can take you to watch it in the security room.” They watched the CCTV. Detective Ron asked, “Why is Zoe not cleaning on the 2nd floor and why is Lily not in the bar room?” “I don’t know.” Replied the guard. Detective Ron went to the lobby. “Lily and Zoe, you stole the paintings!” he opened their bags and found it. Suddenly the museum boss came out. He said, “I forgive you both, never steal again.”

In the United Kingdom there was a museum. Their paintings were very beautiful. They were painted by some famous painters. They were also very expensive. One day, the museum’s lights suddenly turned off. Ev- eryone ran out of the museum and the guard called the fire station. After two days, the museum was open again, but a fa- WHO STOLE THE PAINTING? mous painting had gone. The police called Detective Ron. He came to the museum and saw something special, a piece of glass and a very small footprint. Detective Ron asked the guard, “Did you see any- thing?” The security guard said, “I only saw a light.” The tourist and cleaner said the same thing. After that the police kept investigating and they knew who the suspect was. The police drove to a home. The 2 suspects saw them and started to run but the police caught them.

At 8am, the cleaner and the security guard went to the museum to start work. At that moment, there was a black object flying around the mu- seum. It went towards a famous painting of the Eiffel Tower. It stole the painting. Later witness- es told Detective Ron what they saw. Detective Ron thought it was a tourist, he asked the tour- ist, “What were you doing at 8am?” The tourist said, “I was asleep in bed.” Detective Ron said, “You’re lying, you are the thief!” Lastly, the tourist gave back the painting to the museum.

If I could have a Pet… If I could have a pet, I’d have a cat. This is because cats don’t like to go to the park. They like to just stay at home like me. I think it’d go to the park just once a month. Cats are cute! They have short hair (if you help them to cut it), big eyes and a small mouth. They like to eat fish and catch mice. I hope that I can have eyes like a cat because their eyes can see at night, even if there’s no light. A cat would jump to the street if I didn’t watch it. So if I go to play, I’d close the windows. If I couldn’t have a cat, I’d have a dog. This is because last month I saw a movie about four dogs and their owner’s moving experiences. So I want to have a dog too. I’d walk it every morning.

The Last Day Yesterday was my best hockey friend’s last day in Hong Kong. He is an excellent hockey player! We have been friends since I was eight. We went to Megabox for dinner. We chose a pizza restaurant and took MY JOURNALS a seat. Afterwards, we all played video games for 20 minutes. Then we played with balloons. We played football and volleyball with them, but it was not excit- ing enough. So we decided to play something crazy! We started to jump on the balloons and we even filled some up with water! We played with water balloons and they were so bouncy. We thought it was hilarious! At last we threw a water balloon high in the air and it burst with a loud sound. I think it’s a good idea to do something naughty before a friend leaves. We co- loured our last shared memory with a slight sense of guilty fun. Isn’t it beautiful? I’m sure our paths will cross again.

104 My Trip during summer In summer, I joined a lot of activities. I also had a family trip to Japan. So today I will share about my family trip at the end of July. We almost didn’t catch the plane because we were asleep in bed. It was 9 O’ clock when we arrived at the hotel. On the second day, we took a train to Kobe. We went to the ‘weathercock house’ and the ‘Moegi House’. These two houses have many years of history in Japan. They are also a part of world heritage. We saw how beautiful old Japanese houses were. Then we went to eat Kobe beef. This beef is very famous. We went to a famous restaurant to eat it. A lot of local people had recom- mended it. The beef melted in my mouth, it was deli- cious. Then, we went to Kobe Port Tower. It’s very tall. When we arrived at the top I could see a beautiful view of Osaka and Kobe. I felt calm and took many photos

of the view. Finally we went to Sannonmija Shopping PRIMARY SIX Street. It was very long, we took 35 minutes to walk to the end. In the next few days we visited many famous tourist spots. Such as Kyoto Railway Museum, the Cup Noodle museum, Kyoto Tow- er, Kuromon Market and the Mitsui Outlet. The most profound place was the Cup Noodle Museum because I could make a ‘DIY Cup Noo- dle’. I could choose the ingredients and soup base by myself I ate so much Japanese food. I was heavier after the trip. I felt amazing during this trip. I learned many things and visited a lot of museums. What a fun and interesting trip!

Frozen II Last Saturday, Mum and I went to watch the movie ‘Frozen 2’. The story is about Queen Elsa of Arendelle. She hears a mysterious voice calling MY JOURNALS out to her and her kingdom is attacked by something mysterious. So Elsa and her sister Anna go to the enchanted forest to find the truth. There they meet a tribe called Nor- thuldra and the protectors of fire, water, soil and wind. Elsa tames them. At last Elsa found out that she is the fifth protector of nature. At the end Elsa becomes the protector of the forest and Anna becomes queen. After the movie I liked Elsa best because she was the brav- est and most beautiful person in the story. I think the funniest person was Kristoff because he tried to pro- pose to Anna but failed every time. I found that every character had changed by the end of the story. Elsa cared more for herself and her family. Kristoff found that his love was not as weak as he imagined. Olaf found that love is eternal. Finally, Anna became a great leader! I like this movie a lot!

105 Birthday Today is my birthday, but I’m not very lucky. That is because today is also the wedding day of my aunt. Most unfortunately, my aunt’s husband is a foreigner! It means I need to speak English to him! Although I feel very annoyed, the wedding has to be happy. So I sat down and did my MJ. I didn’t leave my seat until my mother told me to see the ‘ring exchange ceremony’. It was really grand. The wedding witness- es made some jokes, so everyone was relaxed and laughed. After the ceremony everyone started to eat dinner. I was full. Today was really memorable!

My Library Book Last Sunday I went to the library to borrow some books. There was a book I liked a lot. It was called ‘The Land of Stories’. It was about three children who found a map. After they found the map, they took some things they needed and went on an adventure. First they found a boat. They went to another land. It was dangerous because there were many battles. Luckily they came back to their world, where there weren’t any battles. I MY JOURNALS want to share this book with you because some of the content is funny.

The Competition Today I woke up early because a teacher asked me to go to a Rum- mikub competition at a secondary school. I saw Oris and Vincent. Then I went to get my number. I couldn’t find my name! I was very anxious because I was afraid I went to the wrong school. However, I checked the notification, I wasn’t wrong. My teach- er was wrong because the last competition was can- celled. He thought I could go to this one. If Ray didn’t come I could replace him and join the competition. I was surprised because Ray was still sick, so I could join! The teachers said, “There are three matches in round one!” During the first round I played seriously PRIMARY SIX PRIMARY and used my brain to outwit my opponent. I was lucky and won the match. During the next match I carefully examined what cards I could use, I won that too! I lost the third match, but I had fun playing. Finally, I got 71 points. I told my mum, she was ecstatic! I got through to the next round. My opponent was very strong. I think he played with his parents a lot or he was good at maths. Although he won two matches and got 101 marks, I got 102. So I won the round. I the final round I managed to win one match. I was elated because I won a total of 4 matches. I hope I can get stronger and join the competition again.

Then my friend’s mother said, “Rex, you almost reached the top, come back!” Afterwards I played dodgeball, I hit so many people during the game. Then we sang the birthday song and ate some food. After that, we went to another place to play. There was a snooker table, table tennis and an arcade. I played snooker and table tennis. It was a lot of fun! I had a match with my friend. Although I lost, I was satisfied. I

Despite being a fictional character, he is the kind of person you can just fall in love with. Everything about him makes him special and unique. My favourite book is the Prisoner of Azkaban. Why? A Trip to China Last Friday we went to China with my dad’s colleagues, Yoko and Hilda. My sister and I left school early (yay!) during a double maths lesson (double yay!). We set off to the airport in a taxi. When we arrived we went to check in our tickets. The lady said, “Let me see your VISA.” Then my dad looked into his bag, but couldn’t find it! Oh no! The lady told us that we need the VISA or we cannot get into China. My MY JOURNALS dad asked if we could go anyway, but the lady said no. Everyone was panicking. Finally my dad said, “Pearl and I will go to Mong Kok, every- one else stay here!” We dropped all of our luggage and ran for the MTR. Luckily we left school early, so we had two hours left. We dashed to the VISA place and there was a huge queue! Then my dad told me to wait at the end of the line and he barged to the front. Luckily the dude at the front was talking on his phone so he let us go. We got the VISA and rushed back to the airport. We met up with Yoko, Hilda and my sister. I was so hungry because I didn’t eat anything for breakfast. We ordered some food. It was delicious (though I thought it would be better because it’s by Gordon Ramsay the famous chef!). Anyway, we got on the plane, I did some homework but didn’t eat the smelly plane food. There were no TVs to watch so I was very bored. When we finally arrived in Shanghai, we had to get in a taxi. When we arrived at the hotel they didn’t let us in! How rude! So Yoko called Jenny who planned things. After waiting for a long time we went to the nearest PRIMARY SIX PRIMARY hotel we could find. When we got there it seemed like a nice place. We got to our room, unpacked everything and ordered takeaway. Once we had eaten, my sister took a shower. Suddenly she screamed, “There is a spider in the shower!” She started to flick water at the spider. My dad came in a used the shower hose to drown it (Yay, it’s dead!). After that we noticed another spider in the corner of the bathroom by the toilet (why couldn’t it choose the other side?). After that we went to sleep.

108 My Favourite Computer Games First of all, my favourite game is Fortnite. This is because I like to play shooting and killing games. I also like building games, so Fortnite has everything I like in a game. Secondly, I like to play Survivio.io because the game is basically a 2D Fortnite game, but you can’t build anything. There is a mode that is 50 vs 50 and it is very cool. Also PRIMARY SIX you can change clothes, like wearing a ghillie suit. The guns are awesome too! My third favourite game is Minecraft. Everyone knows that Minecraft is a cool game. There are all kinds of games to play in Minecraft, like bed wars, sky wars etc. That is the first reason I like to play Minecraft. The sec- ond reason is that I like to play building games. In Mine- craft you can build your own home and defend it. These are my favourite games? What about you?

First I went to a centre that organised this event. The teachers divid- ed us into 4 teams: Leo team, Aries team, Sagittarius team and Taurus team. I was put into the Leo team, but my star sign is Sagittarius. I was shy when I met my team members. Fortunately, my team members were all very kind and friendly. This helped me to assimilate into the team very quickly. We did many things today. My favourite thing was to make a little light that you can put near your bed at night. It was nice and beautiful. I felt happy today. I was so lucky to have nice team members.

Haldis Luk • 6A • 15 MY JOURNALS My Favourite Sports The sports I like are dodgeball, taekwondo, running and basketball. I like dodgeball because dodgeball is very stimulating. You need to avoid or catch the ball. If someone hits you with the ball you are out. If you are out you need to go outside and help your teammates to hit someone. I like taekwondo because it is very chal- lenging. You need to use your foot to break the board. Taekwondo has 10 levels, not I am black belt. I like to run because running is a fun sport. When you are fast- er than someone you will feel happy. I like basketball because basketball is also very challenging. You need to shoot the ball into the basket. I am happy because I am a member of the basketball team at school.

110 The Book Editing Workshop I joined a workshop in Sha Tin last Saturday. This workshop is about editing work in student’s books. I found that most of the people there were secondary school students. I learned more about the job of book editing for primary and kindergarten students. There were some quiz- zes about this job. The group with the most answers got the prize. I learned it takes nearly two years to make a primary school book. I thought it was just typing words and do- ing some research. I learned that there is a review of primary school book publishing. There are three lev- els, A, B and C. The highest level is A, which means your book has passed. Level B means there are some mistakes in your book and it needs to be rewritten and PRIMARY SIX reviewed again. Level C means it was completely ter- rible. One thing made me very surprised. Do you know who Steve Jobs was? He was the co-founder of Apple computers. Although he was a co-founder, he was also an editor be- fore. I learnt many new things in this workshop. I feel bad for editors because they couldn’t put their names or photos on the books they edited. I hope I could join more similar workshops in the future!

113 Hotpot This weekend, Mum and I enjoyed a homemade spicy hotpot. We pre- pared a lot of food. There were slices of duck’s blood, pork and many other things. We poured our homemade spicy hot pot soup base into a long and deep pot. We waited for the soup to boil. After a few minutes it was boiling. We put in the duck’s blood slices and mushrooms. I like bean curds and pork slices so much because the bean curds are very silky and the pork is juicy. I didn’t like the vegetables because they became too spicy, especially the baby corn. They were covered with chilli oil once they were put into the pot. Mum had a stomachache, but luckily I felt alright. Lastly we enjoyed jelly and milk. We drank about 3 cups of milk! I thought this spicy hotpot was too spicy. I think I would prefer a normal hotpot more.

I felt nervous at the beginning but I told myself to keep calm. I followed Mr. Turner’s tips and performed the poem fluidly. I also tried my best to have eye contact with everyone. Finally, I bought some souvenirs and went home happily. I felt great because I tried so many fun rides and delicious foods. I also learned many interesting things about endangered animals. I hope I can go on another perfect trip!

Chung Yeung Hike On the morning of the Chung Yeung Festival, I woke up at 5am. I quick- ly washed and changed my clothes because I went hiking with my grandmother, father and little brother. The sky was still so dark and I had to be careful. We walked for about 30 minutes from my home in Shek Lei. Then we walked along the MacLehose Trail to Shing Mun Reservoir. We saw MY JOURNALS some dogs and monkeys along the trail. I was scared that the monkeys would steal my backpack. Finally I visited the war relics, such as the exits of military tun- nels. When we finished hiking, we were so tired, I felt like both of my legs were broken. However, it was an enjoyable and memorable hiking trip!

FASA Today, I went to the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy with my friends, Tiffany and Rainie. Since today was an open day there were many things to see and do. First, we watched the ‘Aquatic Incident Training Demonstration’, it was re- ally cool. Then we watched some parades. When I watched the parades, I realised there were many

PRIMARY SIX PRIMARY different kinds of fire trucks and ambulances. It was awesome. After that, we watched the fire fighting and rescue demonstration. It was so memorable. The last performance we watched was the ‘Urban Search and Rescue Demonstration’. It was so memorable. They used a dog called Judy to help others. Judy was very smart, she found an injured man quickly. She did a great job! Finally, we played booth games. It was a little bit hard to play but I managed to answer the questions. Today was an unforgettable day for me. I hope next year I can go there again!

118 Save the Environment! Global warming is a big problem all around the world. Polar bears, pen- guins and many animals that live in cold places will lose their homes. I read a book about a polar bear who tries to save his home. The bear said, “My friends, look out! We will lose our homes if we do not face up to people! We need ice. People cut down trees and drive cars. This is the cause! I sug- gest we have a parade so everyone can see the truth!” “We agree,” said many of the other polar bears “Ice is nice! Turn stuff off! Solar power, wind power, save our home!” I think we should not use so many electric appliances like air conditioners. We can use fans in- stead. We should help to save the world.

My Best Friend My best friend is Aidan. Why is my best friend Aidan? It’s because he is a very helpful and generous person. Why do I think he is helpful and generous? It is because he always helps people when they are sad and he always shares his snacks. We became friends in P.4. On that day, I was having a bad time because I got a low mark in dictation. I had even studied it till 11pm the day be- fore. During this time Aidan came and said, “It’s not a big problem, no need to be sad.” When I listened to what he said, I felt very thankful because it made me feel happy again. Then, he gave me a pack of potato chips and said, “I hope you can get good marks in your next dictation!” When I became friends with him I learnt we should

help others when they are having a bad time. MY JOURNALS

My Dad was on TV I want to share an interesting thing with you. Yesterday, when I was doing homework, my father told us that he was going to be on a TV pro- gramme. I felt excited about this and stopped doing my homework for a while to watch it. I was wondering what the topic of the programme was and asked him whether he men- tioned me in the interview. My father laughed and said the interview was about work and not family. We all laughed at my question. When the programme start- ed broadcasting I learned it was about training older people for reemployment. I found out that my father is doing a meaningful and complicated job. I told myself that I need to work hard to build up my abilities and skills so I can do something meaningful like my father.

119 The Competition Yesterday, I joined a football competition for the South- ern District Football Club. First, we did some warm up exercises. Next, we started the football match. In the first game the team was strong. But we were not scared. We were courageous and tried our best. In the end it was a draw. In the second game, we won 3-0! I scored 3 goals, my team celebrated with me. Then we played the team from the first game again. At first, the game was tight. Then we gained confidence, we believed we could win the competition. At last, we beat them 5-4. We were delighted! It was a great day!

A School Visit On Saturday, I did so many things. First, I played football with my sis- ter Sharon. Then I went dancing. After dancing, I went to Disneyland where there was a Halloween party. I went to the Haunted House with my friend. It was very scary, but we didn’t cry because we could take lots of candy. At night, we ate fried chicken and French fries in the Rocket restaurant. After we finished our dinner, we went to the Ant Man and the Wasp Nano Battle ride. MY JOURNALS This ride was very stimulating. We needed to shoot things with a gun. At last, I had fun today. Although I was scared when I went to the Haunted House.

Hotpot My family likes hotpot a lot! We often eat hotpot twice a month. But when we have a special festival such as a birthday or holiday, we will have it more than twice a month. We have tried Jap- anese hotpot, Korean hotpot, Cantonese hotpot and Sichuan hotpot in restaurants. We will usually eat hot- pots in Kwai Fung, Tsuen Wan or Prince Edward be- cause there are many restaurants to choose from. We can also make hotpot at home. We just need to buy our favourite food and put it in. We can use meat, veg-

PRIMARY SIX PRIMARY etables, seafood and other things. Making a hotpot is fun and enjoyable. Japanese hotpots can have soup for one or many people. Cantonese hot pot soup has chicken, pork, beef or vegetables. Sichuan hotpot, is very spicy and hot! I like making and eating hotpots because I enjoy the process. I also love the taste. Everyone loves hotpots! Do you prefer homemade or restaurant hotpots?

120 The Barbecue Today I went to a BBQ with my family. Yesterday we went to the super- market to buy some food. This morning we went to Hung Mui Kuk bar- becue area to have the barbecue. When we arrived we saw many Indonesians having a BBQ too. Final- ly, we found a place to sit. We had lots of rich food, like steak, pork chops, chicken, fish eggs and cuttle- fish. I had a lot to eat. When we finished, I played the ‘werewolf game’. In the first round, I am the wolf and I caught all of the people. After that, we went back

home. I felt happy because I can have a BBQ and PRIMARY SIX play games.

My Birthday Today is my birthday, the weather was cold. I am 11 years old. I was very excited. After I finished school, I went to learn English at a tutorial centre. Then I went home with my mum. My mum bought me a cake. There were many Toy Story 4 toys on it. I loved it! For my present, I got a new water bottle, a box of glitter pens, a watch, some toys and some DIY boxes. I think they were great! My favourite present is my new water bottle. It is pink and purple and has rabbit ears on it. The material is stainless steel, so it can keep my water warm. My mum wrote, “Make a small but daily prog- ress” on my cake. This was my best birthday ever! MY JOURNALS

Football Today is great day because my foot injury got bet- ter. Therefore I went to have the football training with my school mates. In the afternoon, after having lunch at school, I got my water bottle ready and went to football. Our coach took us to the football pitch and we trained for 30 minutes. We took a rest and drank some water. At last we went back to school. On the school bus I talked with my friends about school and other funny things. Today I felt glad.

121 My Birthday In the last two weeks, we couldn’t go to school. We didn’t go to school for about 6 days, so I was very bored. On the first day I was hap- py I could stay at home. I played, did homework and studied. On the second and third day I still didn’t feel bored. But when I didn’t go to school on the fourth day, I felt bored. I just did the same things, homework, studying and going to the library. On the last day I was happy that I could go back to school and play with my friends. When I was sitting on the school bus I felt excited. I was happy to meet my friends at school because I missed them a lot.

General Studies Project During these past few weeks, there was a project I needed to do with my groupmates. The project was about how animals protect them- selves, how they find food and how they adapt to the environment. My groupmates were Max, Ethan and Nick. Our topic for the project was tortoises and turtles. We found infor- mation on 4 types of tortoises and turtles for this ex- periment. We chose sea turtles, Brazilian Turtles and also the African spurred Tortoise. We boiled eggs and MY JOURNALS towels to copy the skin of a tortoise, so we could mea- sure the temperature. Last Sunday my groupmates came to my house to do the experiments and finish the project. We needed to make a PowerPoint to intro- duce the experiments and animals. At last we did the presentation in about 7 minutes. I hope we can get a good mark for this project.

A Rainy Day Today I went to the park with my friends. First, we played hide-and-seek, but then it started raining. So we went and found a shop to stay in. I took out my phone and played some games. It stopped raining, but it was still wet outside so we couldn’t play games.

PRIMARY SIX PRIMARY Then, I went back home and played PS4. We played a game called ‘FIFA 20’. It is a football game. At last, we had dinner at my house.

122 National Day On 1st October 2019, it was a public holiday called National Day. I stayed at home for the whole day. I was very bored and sleepy be- cause there was nothing to do at home. Most of the shopping malls in Hong Kong were closed and not doing any business. Also the busy MTR stations were closed. Therefore I had nowhere to go for fun on that day. I was stuck at home to do homework and revision. It wasn’t so easy to stay at home until the evening. When I watched TV I noticed there were no fireworks celebrations for National Day. After dinner I went to bed to sleep right away. On Tuesday, I had nowhere to go and nothing to do for the whole day. I felt mad on PRIMARY SIX National Day 2019. What a boring day!

A Trip to Taichung During the last week of August, I went to Taichung with my mum and my brother, Darren. My dad needed to work, so he did not come. After one hour and thirty minutes, we arrived in Taichung. During these 5 days, we went to a lot of places, for example: Gaomei Wetlands, Lih- pao Land Water Park, Rainbow Village, Feng Chiu Night Market and Qingjing Farm. Out of also the places I went to the water park and the farm were the most interesting. The water park was the best in Taiwan. There were many different rides. For example: Big Wave, water slides and a lazy river. I love all of the rides, the Big Wave was the best. It was just like a small tsunami, the waves drove us away. I MY JOURNALS liked it because it was exciting and fun. On the third day, we went to Qingjing Farm. It was on a mountain. We joined a local tour because it was located far away from the city. The mountain is 3275m above sea lev- el. The air was getting thinner as we went higher. I felt dizzy on the bus and threw up during the journey. Finally, we reached the highest mountain. Although it was chilly, the air was fresh. After we took some photos we went down to the farm which was in the middle of the mountain. We saw a lot of sheep. We also saw a special show about how shepherds cut off sheep’s wool. We also saw a sheepdog drive the sheep into a pen. I thought it was amazing! Lastly, I want to thank my mum. Although she was tired, she still brought us for a trip. I hope my dad can come with us for our next holiday!

123 The Museum Last Saturday, my mum, my aunt and I went to a mu- seum called ‘Monopoly Dream’. It was a great muse- um. It also had many games, for example, ‘Bank Rob- bery’. It’s a five minute story about robbing a bank. The museum was quite far from home. It was on The Peak. The museum was special. There was a room with an elevator. It makes everyone shocked for a sec- ond. The museum also had a lot of board games and pillows to buy. Some of the board games were too ex- pensive, so we only purchased little things.

The Birthday Cake On Saturday, I finished my gymnastics training. I went to Gigi’s home to make a cake because it was our friend Vanessa’s 12th birthday. We wanted to make a beautiful cake to celebrate with her. We took the bus, Gigi brought the ingredients. Fifteen minutes later I arrived at her home. We started to make the cake. First, we made a cake, it was very hard to make because we didn’t know the size. After that we covered it in icing. It was blue because it was her favourite colour. After that, we put strawberries on MY JOURNALS the cake. Ten minutes later Vanessa arrived at Gigi’s home. When she entered the house she smelt the cake and asked, “What’s that smell?” We both said, “Happy Birthday!” to her. We ate the cake together. We felt happy and the cake was delicious! Secondary School Visit Today, at a quarter past nine, we were sitting in a classroom at a sec- ondary school. Can you guess which one? The correct answer is HKMA David Li Kwok Po College. It is in Olympic and I want to go to this school because I like science and art. There a lot of STEM and art activities, which is great. At the school I saw my classmates, Skywing, Ingrid and Joy. PRIMARY SIX PRIMARY Ingrid and I both liked the school. Maybe we will be classmates again in the near future! There’s another reason I want to study at this school. It’s near my home in Mei Foo! I can go to this school by MTR in about 30 minutes. Also my best friend Charissa wants to go to this school too. So I will have more time to learn and have fun with her (I hope, maybe). I will study and pre- pare for both my interview and exam. Then hopefully I can study at this school.

My Happiest Weekend Yesterday, I had lots of homework to do because I am a P6 student now! So I have less time to play and relax. Although I had lots of home- work, I did not mind working hard so I can get higher marks. I studied a lot for my English dictation. So my dad gave me a break to let me play on the scooter. I felt happy be- cause I had not ridden my scooter for a long time. Af- ter I rode the scooter, I felt hungry and tired. So my grandmother brought me a delicious cheesecake. It was very delicious, I think she made it herself. At night we ate dinner together. After dinner, grandmother felt tired and went home. I felt very happy. So I hope I have a similar weekend every week.

A Busy Day On the 21st September, I went to coding class in Shek Mun. This time it was not Minecraft modding. Instead we were learning how to use App Inventor software. I made a mini game using funny online emojis. The game was called Hide and Seek. To play, you have to tap on the emoji as fast as you can without hit- ting the white screen. There is also a health bar that will go down if you miss. After coding class, I went to lunch. We ate Shanghainese food. After we finished our lunch we went back home to wait for my cousin to come. When she arrived, we played PUBG together. We played PUBG for a while. When it was about 6, we went to have dinner at a fast food shop called ‘Super Fast Food’. We went to the park after we ate. We played hide and seek and laser tag, it was fun! We stayed at the park for one and a half hours. Then we went home and played Minecraft on our Xbox One. At last it was 10pm and my cousin had to leave. We had a delightful day.
