Logically, there are premises lead to results and a religious person never says any thing from his own view, but he passes it on the decree of Allah, the book of Allah (the Quran) and the Sunna of the prophet (May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and says only what matches the book of Allah and the Sunna of the beloved prophet.

The Ulama in various domains excelled utmost in pristical and efficient way to cater the diverse and contemporary needs or challenges. To analyse the muslim intellectual contribution in terms of social efficacy and political acuemen, we need to explore the educational perspectives in chronological and analytical way. The theo-centric educational setup designed in the light of its teachings presented the civilized outlook of the scripture of knowledge both of religious and non-religious sciences. This sacred system seems to have developed around the learned men to whom disciples thronged to acquire the knowledge irrespective of denominations. The progress of learning, expansion and consolidation of the central authority, cultural influences as those of Muslim mystics (sufis) and the employment of skilled men in the royal professional life paved the way for the rise of downtrodden people to climax in the society.

E-mail: [email protected] Mob.09559840136 Fax.0522-2740240 Caste system pre-Islamic Arabian society: Before the advent of Islam, the Arabs considered the non-Arabs, inferior (‘Ajmi) to them. Even Arab people pride on their own tribes. The Quraish tribe was servant of K’abah, so prided on them. But their attitude was not like Indian caste system. They were marrying with different tribes. They used to do all kind of works. We can find such evidences in pre- Islamic era. Till now they use job titles with their names, like Haddad, (blacksmith/ ironsmith) Zayyat (oil presser), Najjar (carpenter), Hazza (shoes maker), Khayyat (tailor) etc. There were two classes in pre-Islamic Arabic society i.e. free and slave. The free man could take benifits (physical relations) with slave woman but revers was not allowed. By this example we can say that pre-Islamic Arabian society was divided into a society of upper and lower class, in other word it was based on class not caste. A famous antheropologist Dr. Ghaus Ansari writes: “The pre-Islamic Arabian society was devided into tribes and clans; social grades within the clan or tribe were unknown. Although rivaliries between different clans of the same tribe or between different tribes were quite common, and although inter-clan or inter-tribal fueds were also frequent, yet the the conception of superiority or inferiority of one clan or tribe in comparision to another clan or tribe 1 was unknown in the sense it has come to acquire in existing plural socities.”P0F Caste and Islam: Islam is an egalitarian religion.

    The tomb of Sheikh Sayyid Amir Kulal. Shah Bahauddin Naqshaband (ral) was born in the village of Qasr al-Arifan near Bukhara in the year 711 AH/1317 CE. He is reported to have had miraculous powers even during his childhood. When he was still a youth Muhammad Baba as Samasi, a Sheikh of the Naqshabandi Tariqa asked for him and to fulfill this request he went to the village of Samas in order to serve him. Of this period of time Shah Bahauddin (ral), has this to say, “Rising in the morning hours at least three hours before fajr I would perform the sunnah prayers and thereafter in the position of sajda (prostration) ask Allah Almighty to give me the power to carry the pain of His Divine love. Thereafter I would pray salat ul fajr with my Sheikh. It seems that my Sheikh was aware of my supplication, for he told me, “You will have to change your method of supplication as Allah Almighty does not like His servants to ask for difficulties. He might however in order to test his creatures give them some difficulties. This is different. The servant should not however ask to be in difficulties because this will not be showing proper respect to Allah Almighty. Therefore change your supplication and instead say “to this weak servant of Yours, oh my Lord grant Your pleasure”. “After the death of Sheikh Muhammad Baba Samasi I went to Bukhara and also got married there. I lived in Qasr al-Arifan near Seyyid Amir Kulal in order to serve him.” It is related that Sheikh Baba Samasi had a long time ago told Seyyid Amir Kulal to take good care of shahBahauddin Naqshaband.
