Respected Sir /Madam, The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) is staunchly committed to playing a significant role in strengthening and sustaining the academic environment at the campus along with giving a boost to the co- curricular activities of students. UAF stands out from the other educational institutions in Pakistan to have become the country's first university which, in 2013, was put in the list of 100 best universities in the world, and of top 20 Asia pacific universities in the Agricultural Sciences according to the NTU world ranking. Since then, UAF has persisted in improving these rankings and now it is the 34th best University worldwide according to UI Green Metric World University ranking 2015, 72nd best in the world on the basis of scientific output in Agricultural Sciences and 86th in QS World University ranking 2016.In 2013, UAF set the tradition of holding Lyallpur Art &Literature Festival, a cherished annual mega event, that has become a linchpin of co-curricular activities to motivate students for achieving excellence in their particular fields of endeavor. Now is time for the 5th Lyallpur Art &Literature Festival, 2017. QIRAAT AND NA’AT CLUB (SEERAT CHAIR)
Rules and Regulations Qiraat Time for Qiraat will be 3 to 5 minutes. Any verse from the Holy Quran can be recited. During Qiraat, verse will not be repeated. Marks will be awarded on the basis of pronunciation and delivery. Only one participant can participate from each institute. Decision of judges will be final Na’at Na’at will be in Urdu language Three verses without repetition must be recited. Na’at should be melodiously recited (i.e., with Tarrannum). THE DEBATING CLUB Rules and Regulations for APBDC Ÿ Competition will be bilingual that is in English and Urdu. Ÿ The competition will comprise of two rounds. Ÿ Four teams will qualify for final round along with two individual speakers from each language. Ÿ There will be team participation comprising of two speakers, however, an individual competitor may also participate. Ÿ This is a compulsion for a team that if one member of the team chooses a serious topic from one language, the second member will choose a humorous topic from the other language and vice versa. Ÿ Time limit will be minimum 03 minutes and maximum 05 minutes, in the initial round & 4-6 minutes in the final round. Ÿ Paper reading will not be allowed. Ÿ Speakers will not be allowed to make objectionable, vulgar or indecent remarks about any religion, caste, creed, political party, or personage. Ÿ Judges can disqualify participant over the violation of any rule. Ÿ The team given maximum aggregate points will get the team trophy. Ÿ There will be separate award for best U-19 speaker. Ÿ If two teams or two participants gain equal marks, then the position will be awarded after new extempore speeches from both of the teams or participants. Model United Nations (AGMUN’ 17) AGMUN is the Model UN event of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad which has been becoming bigger and better,since its launching in 2015. AGMUN has now grown up into a 2 committee Model UN simulation event with the committees named PNA and UNGA. The topics for table talk to the delegates will be given via the Facebook page of the Debating Club, UAF (www.facebook.com/thedebatingclubuaf).Be there at the AGMUN so that together, being a part of the Model Pakistan National Assembly (PNA) and the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) we can propose policies to counter the global and national threats to the country. II. Teams will be given 20 minutes‟ time for the case preparation after the announcement of the topic. III. English Poem: Details
Rules and Regulations · Poem should be written according to the given title. · Poem should not be more than 10 couplets or 5 quatrains; the one which exceeds the limit will earn negative marks. · Stanza of poem must not be repeated. · Any conflicting issue (caste, religion etc.) in the theme of poem must be avoided and will be discouraged. · Each participant has to submit four copies of the poem at least one hour before the start of competition. · Each University/College can nominate only one participant for the poem competition. · The criteria of judgment will be based upon: o Rhyme scheme. o Presentation and Pronunciation. o Quality of thought. · The Decision of judges will be final and cannot be challenged in an y case. · Registration fee: Rs. 500/- per participant. Bait Bazi Competition: Rules and Regulations · Each team will consist of two participants. · Each University/College can nominate only one team for Bait Bazi Competition. · There will be two rounds of the competition, the first round will be of 15 verses and second one of 10 verses. · All teams must keep in mind the ethical and moral values while selecting the verses. · A verse, once recited, should not be repeated. · The conscious attack of Radeef is prohibited; violation will result in deduction of mark. · The criteria of judgment will be based upon: · Metre (Behr/wazan) · Presentation and Pronunciation · Quality of the verses · Originality of the verses · Each verse will carry the value of 3 marks, and each mistake will result in the loss of one mark. · In case of more than one mistake in a single verse, marks equal to the number of mistakes will be deducted from the total marks of the team.

· If any team fails to respond to a verse from the other team, all three marks of that verse will be deducted from the total marks of that team. · Decision of judges cannot be challenged in any case. · Registration fees: Rs. 500/- per team.
Rules and Regulations: · Each University/College can nominate only one participant for the Afsana competition. · Each participant is allowed to write Afsana on any one of the given topics. · Afsana should comprise of 1000-1300 words only. · Criteria of judgment will be based on theme and quality of thoughts. · Any conflicting issue (regarding caste, religion etc.) in the theme of Afsana must be avoided and will be discouraged. · It must be submitted till 10th March, 2017 via email (in-page file) on mailing address ([email protected]) and will not be accepted by post. · Participants must provide their phone numbers & Institute name in the covering letter of the email. · Winners will be announced via email or phone. · Position holders will be invited at prize distribution ceremony. · Decision of judges cannot be challenged in any case. · Registration fee of Rs. 300/winner will be received on prize distribution ceremony. THE QUIZ CLUB Rules and Regulations Categories Islam, Geography, Sports, Current Affairs, Pakistan History, Entertainment, Art and Literature, IT, Math, IQ, Common Observation, Personalities, Science and Technology and Agriculture Rules and Regulations Ø Initial written test will be conducted if the number of participating teams exceeds the limit of 16. Ø Medium of questions will be English. Ø One team, comprising of two members, will represent each Institution / University / College. Ø Each team will be allowed to answer a question only once, i.e. second guessing would not be allowed. Ø Any decision by the jury will be final and not open to discussion. Ø Any team found violating the set of rules would be disqualified from the competition. Ø Each round has its specific rules and points. Ø If prompted from the audience, the question will be replaced. Ø There will be no negative marking. The ranking of the teams will be announced at the end of the competition according to their aggregate points. Ø Registration fee Rs. 1000/- per team. VIRSA MUSIC SOCIETY (SUFI SONGS COMPETITION:) Rules and Regulations: · Every participating institute can register more then one team (comprising of 2 Members) for the competition. · Orchestra will be provided by the host institute. · Every participant will have an open choice of selecting any sufi song in any Pakistani language.. · Each participant will be allowed to sing for 6 minutes including Buf fering time. · Signing after the prescribed time limit will result in negative marking. · Decision of the judges will be final and unchallengeable. · Registration fee is Rs. 1500/- per team · Singing with karaoke is not allowed.

Rules and Regulations Photography: 1 Product Photography Competition: Ÿ You have to choose ONE of the following category of product for photograph. 1.Electronic Gadgets 2. Edibles 3. Jewellery Ÿ Note that you will not be given the product and you'll need to arrange for it yourselves. Ÿ Participants are required to photograph their chosen product in the most appealing and creative way possible! Ÿ Participants will capture the picture on the day of competition before the deadline of time, which will be conveyed to them on the day of the event. Ÿ Let your imagination flow and don't be afraid to take risks!
2-Architecture of UAF through Lens: · Capture the Beauty of UAF · The work should be original. · Each participant will submit the number of photographs asked under the theme mentioned. · Participants will capture the picture on the day of competition before the deadline of time.

4-Search and Click Photography Competition: · Complete the list of tasks given on the day of competition and submit your pictures. · Participants have to submit their pictures within the given time. Rules for Street Art Competition · Theme for street Art is “Agriculture and Pakistan” · Team must comprise of 5 members including 1 team head. · Registration fee will be Rs1000/team (non-refundable) · Team has to arrange brushes and paint bowls by themselves. · Paints will be provided by management. · Judges decision will be final and not challengeable. UAF YOUNG DEVELOPMENT CORPS RULES AND REGULATIONS Web Designing: Ÿ The theme/task will be given to all the participants 15 minutes before the competition starts. Ÿ The final product must be ready within 3 hours. Ÿ Teams are not allowed to communicate with other teams. Ÿ Teams should bring their own laptops with required Software's/IDEs installed. Ÿ Basic softwares like WAMP server, Adobe Photoshop with extra fonts loaded, Notepad++, Dreamweaver and sublime editor will be available to the participants. Ÿ Internet will be provided to the participants during the competition to download and use resources such as images, fonts, etc. Ÿ Teams can't use templates and cascading style sheets that were built by the team before the competition. Ÿ Individual / Team members will be required to officially register for Website Design Competition. Ÿ Registration fee is 800/- per team. (Maximum 2 members) Speed Programming: Ÿ The duration of the event is 5 hours. Ÿ The first round is the qualifying round. Ÿ Minimum 2 members and Maximum 3 members are allowed to participate in the competition. All the team members' presence is mandatory. Ÿ The team name and head of the team should be decided before the competition started. Ÿ Teams should bring their own laptops with required Software's/IDEs installed. Ÿ Participants must reach in the Lab 30 minutes before the event start so as to test the compilers. Ÿ Participants are allowed to solve the real world problems in any Programming language. Ÿ Participants are not allowed to use the Internet during the competition. Ÿ Participants are not allowed to use the mobile phone during the competition. Ÿ If any team is caught violating rules and regulations, it will be disqualified from the competition. Script Writing: Topics

Time allocated: 1 hour Play duration: 15 minutes
Rules & Regulations: Ÿ Each University can nominate only one participant for Script Writing. Ÿ Each participant is allowed to write script on any one of the given topics on the day Ÿ Each participant will write the script on the spot. Ÿ Criteria of judgment will be based on theme and quality of thoughts. Ÿ Any conflicting issue (regarding caste, religion etc) in the theme of Script must be avoided and will be strongly discouraged.
